The new research, carried out by mutual Family Investments (www.familyinvestments.co.uk) revealed families pay, on average, £7,127 a year for a childminder or nursery – which equates to a third of their salaries! Working mums do better in the West Midlands, where they’re in proﬁt after just over 15 weeks, compared to the south west of England, where 19 weeks’ work covers it.
