KEY INITIATIVES GREENING CHINA'S BELT AND ROAD INITIATIVE PEOPLE PROTECTING LANDSCAPES SUPPORTING COMMUNITY ENTERPRISES China's ambition to build connectivity and co-operation across 70+ countries across the globe will lead to infrastructure developments that could impact on range areas of 265 threatened species and over 1.700 key biodiversity areas. We will seek to influence projects on the ground, create policy frameworks for sustainable infrastructure and showcase green infrastructure. Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas and Territories will increasingly play a vital role in protecting landscapes, and seascapes and preserving bio and cultural diversity. WWF and partners will support efforts led by women and men in indigenous and other local communities to secure tenure and access rights and enable conservation of key areas and inclusive benefit sharing. We support over 200 community enterprises from forest products to eco-tourism enterprises, which provide economic incentives to communities at the frontline of conservation to protect and preserve habitats and live in harmony with species. Our aim is to strengthen the link of these enterprises to markets to ensure long-term sustainable livelihoods. WWF-INT Strategy Report 2018 page 33
