WE NEED TO BUILD
A POSITIVE BELIEF IN
THE FUTURE

The nature conservation and human
development agendas are one and
the same. Nature's integrity depends
on our responsible and wise
behaviours, while people's health,
happiness, society and economy
depend on a rich, productive and
diverse nature. There is not going to
be an equitable and prosperous future
for people in a degraded planet.
Most people across the world feel a
strong emotional connection with
nature - but few appreciate the
benefits of nature's services to us
and risks associated to its loss. We
desperately need people everywhere
to understand how nature provides
life's essentials and the devastating
impact resulting from inaction.
And we need to build a positive
belief in the future - that we can
reverse the loss of nature and our
lives can, and will, change for the
better not worse.

By improving access to information,
connecting through initiatives and
on the internet, we will support and
mobilise hundreds of millions of people
to help shape a sustainable future for
our society and the planet. Helping
people discover the true value of nature
in their lives - and how every person
has a role to play to preserve it.
Helping individuals and communities
adopt new ways of living that have
a positive impact on nature and
their own lives. And working with
corporations, governments and
international bodies to create new
and innovative solutions at scale.
