Drive me crazy
A driveway not only saves you the hassle of nding a safe and convenient parking space, it’s a valuable asset, too. Make sure yours is up to standard
Whether you are selling your home or just want the exterior to look its best, it’s important to give your driveway the care and attention it deserves. Try to think of it as a type of courtyard – it’s one of the first areas guests and passers-by will see, so make it a pleasant space; not just somewhere to park the car. An unkempt driveway will make your house look scruffy and uncared for before someone’s even stepped inside. One way to create instant ‘wow’ is to inject it with a splash of colour by using flowers and foliage. Low-growing plants can be grown between the tracks where the car wheels run, or you can plant up the area around the driveway, choosing plants that won’t overhang – there’s nothing more annoying than scratched car paintwork. Recessed concrete blocks are a good way of keeping plants in their place and will help soften the appearance of concrete edging.
