endless video codecs and formats,
and often video ﬁles are simply too
large to share via email.
ioGates has developed a simple
way to handle video files that
does not require any technical
knowledge and can be managed
from within a web browser. No
more struggles with FTP servers or

all your video sharing, conversion,

ioGates have made it easy to
upload files, with a “drag and
drop” application for uploading
via your web browser. ioGates’
upload software is built with the
highest security and by using
accelerated ﬁle transfer software
from MassTransit (build on UDP)
the ﬁles arrive at the ioGates server
three to four times faster than oldfashioned FTP. Just drag ﬁles of any
size or type into your web browser
and they will be uploaded to your

Press “send” and your recipient

the ﬁles. You can control what your
recipient sees including description,
converted formats, and metadata
and how long the shared link will be
accessible before it expires. If you
would like extra security, you can
enable two-factor authentication.
In this case your recipient will also
receive an SMS text message with
a four-digit code that is required to
access the share.
Converting video ﬁles is usually an
engineering task but with ioGates
anyone can now convert to and
from any video format. You can
upload a QuickTime ProRes master
and then convert this master into
any format you wish. Select your
video ﬁle in ioGates library and just
drag it into the convert menu and
select the formats you would like
and press “Process”. ioGates will
process the ﬁles and attach them to

the original master. You can create
as many formats as you wish and
the converted formats can also be
made available for sharing. ioGates
have carefully created encoding
presets for web/computer formats,
Broadcast SD and Broadcast HD
formats, but if you like a special
custom-made format, ioGates is
able provide this as well.
ioGates have built a workﬂow
to create 100% automated TV
masters with presets for any TV
station in the world. Just upload your
uncompressed or ProRes master
and select the TV station. Type in
the slate information and then press
transfer – that’s all. The master will
be converted into the right audio and
video levels. Quality control will be
performed. ioGates will return a TV
Master zip package with a preview,
so you can preview the TV master
in ioGates. The zip ﬁle will contain
the TV master, a high resolution
QuickTime reference movie with
timecode embedded, and a PDF
with the quality control report.
