Civolution Goes
Interactive

Sky News Reports Live Using
iPhone From China Protest

NED: French media group Lagardere
Active is using Civolution’s
SyncNow ACR technology to
power an advanced interactive
app for its TV channel, Gulli.
The app which is initially for use
during the advertisement breaks
will then be extended for use on
the programmes. It will enhance
the advertisements by enabling
interactions such as games and
original content about products.
The app will also give users the
chance to engage in games.

ky News has conducted the
world’s ﬁ rst intercontinental
live video interview using Dejero’s
LIVE+ Mobile App installed on an
Apple iPhone.

Stone recently used the iPhone to
deliver a live video interview from
the centre of a censorship protest
in Guangzhou, China.
The Dejero LIVE+ Mobile App
transmitted the video in real-time
over a 3G cellular connection
to television viewers in the UK.
The solution and support were
supplied to Sky News by Dejero’s
exclusive UK distributor, IDX
Technology Europe.

App Development Contest. The
contest challenged individuals
and companies to submit solutions
using Polycom RealPresence open

application programming interfaces
(APIs) to extend the value of the
Polycom RealPresence Platform.
X2O Media won the grand prize
with an application that delivers live
and on-demand video content to
digital signage screens, Polycom
VVX IP phones, and video kiosks.
Announced during Polycom’s
annual sales and partner conference
in Vancouver, winners of the App
Development Contest were
determined by a panel of judges
based on ﬁve criteria: commercial
applicability, user experience,
productivity, third-party application
integration, and innovation.
