LeADING THe WAY The National Outsourcing Association’s Life Cycle model provides a framework to guide companies through the outsourcing process. Continuing his thoughts from last issue, Programmes Director Chris Halward now looks at the primary element in the Life Cycle: Strategic Leadership. He is an associate tutor at Middlesex University assessing Masters degree assignments. t’s clear is that a well-managed, professional approach is key to ensuring that a sourcing strategy realises its potential for adding value to an organisation. Strategic Leadership is the key element in the Life Cycle which ensures that an organisation realises the potential that an effective sourcing strategy offers. This article provides a brief overview of the key aspects of effective Strategic Leadership. In recent times, opportunities to improve I 66 ● an organisation through effective sourcing strategies have increased exponentially, due to a number of factors, including economic, political, technological changes. As a result, there are now a dizzying array of options, both local and global, from which executives can choose. The potential benefits of a well-thought-out and professionally managed sourcing strategy are well-documented, not least in this publication and at NOA events that take place throughout the year.
