Softel Debut Swift Subtitle Monitor
GBR: Softel has announced Swift Subtitle Monitor, a new multi-channel subtitle monitoring software that allows real-time checking of subtitle match and alignment to the video. Offering “at a glance” monitoring, Swift allows the conﬁguration of personalised display line-ups for over 25 subtitled video streams. It complements Softel’s family of end-to-end subtitling solutions, encompassing subtitle creation, extraction, transcoding, insertion, transmission and monitoring.

wTVision’s Real-Time Channel Solutions
wTVision showcased its real-time broadcast graphics and playout automation solutions at IBC. These included the new product Football Stats CG Light – Single Operator Edition, ChannelMakerin-a-box and the new interface for the character generator, Studio CG. Football Stats CG Light – Single Operator Edition provides tools to collect, manage data and transform this information into on-air graphics in a fast and simple manner. ChannelMaker-in-a-box is a simpliﬁed solution that ﬁts inside a single system. It includes everything a broadcaster needs to manage a TV Channel: sequencer, playout, video server, graphics controller, integrated ingest, media validation tools, among many other features. wTVision also showcased the new interface of its character generator, Studio CG. This product complements the graphic engines platforms, speeding up the workflow as it reduces the dependency on graphic templates.

XenData Debut Archive Solutions
USA: XenData debuted the Qualstar RLS-8500 LTO library at IBC. Solutions included the Object Matrix/XenData Collaborative Solution offering automate and move content seamlessly from near-line disk to LTO tape. The SX-10 Video Archive Appliance/Spectralogic T50e and HP 2024 Tape Libraries – were shown managing an HP 36 TB LTO library and a Spectralogic T50e 75 TB library. The X1500 Video Archive System offers drag and drop archiving to LTO tape.

T-VIPS Launch MediaCorp Opts Connect5 Solution For Aspera
NOR: T-VIPS has launched its next generation video-centric network management solution, Connect5. This solution provides broadcasters and network operators with the ability to easily monitor and control multiple video network infrastructures. T-VIPS COO Janne T Morstol said: “Our Connect5 solution gives network operators and broadcasters a simple and cost-effective way to set up, monitor and manage the delivery of professional video over today’s increasingly complex video transport networks.” T-VIPS Connect5, which will enable service providers to offer a new level of flexibility, will ship in Q4, 2012. USA: Singapore-based MediaCorp has deployed Aspera’s high-speed transfer platform as the core of its new digital asset distribution infrastructure. Operating seven television and 13 radio channels, MediaCorp offers a range of platforms, spanning television, radio, newspapers, magazines, movies, digital and outof-home media. MediaCorp needed a flexible platform for real-time collection and distribution of global news stories, as well as a means to transfer content to its global media distribution network. Aspera’s Connect Server software provides a browser plug-in that initiates high-speed transfers.

KSL-TV Selects NVerzion Platform
USA: NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City, KSL-TV, has upgraded its end-to-end NVerzion automation system to a more streamlined, ﬁlebased operation. The NVerzion automation platform increases efﬁciencies by managing short- and long-form programme playback for KSL’s main station, a separate Comcast feed, local independent station KJZZ, and the Live Well Network, which KSL broadcasts as a digital subchannel. The NVerzion automation platform manages a broad range of equipment, including Omneon Spectrum media servers, as well as Utah Scientiﬁc 400SD/HD routers and MC-2020 SD/HD master control switchers.

BEL: Skyline Communications latest release of DataMiner end-toend network management platform features many enhancements. D a t a M i n e r 7 . 5 i m p ro v e s notifications and the service management layer. Version 7.5 has applications to empower out-of-the-box solutions. Add-ons for the correlation engine make the platform more intelligent and a mobile application extends the reach to any mobile device.
