Re-kindling the desire to read
the kindle has taken the market by storm – but with the whole Amazon bookshop at your disposal the decision of what to read has become a little tricky. too much choice sometimes leads to indecision and lead you to choose the novel with the most hype. do these best sellers deserve the hype surrounding them? Alan Burns takes a look at the most talked about novels available on Kindle and sees if they are worth the hype.’
Book: Fifty Shades of Grey Author: E.L. james kindle download Price: £2.69
Fifty Shades of grey was originally developed from twilight fanfiction, and from there E.L James has developed this premise into a new York times number 1 erotic fiction paperback and e-book. it has reportedly sold around 10 million copies..so what is all the hype about? Fifty Shades of grey is the first in a trilogy which details the development of a relationship between graduate Anastasia Steele and business man Christian grey. this is not for the more conservative minded, as it has become notorious for its explicit erotic scenes, but after reading it i felt that it was this erotic element which has given the novel its reputation, not in fact for the literary styling which is clichéd in parts to say the very least. ignoring the lazy descriptions and, at times, awful prose, it is a page turner and an easy, fun read which does suspend your disbelief and desire – this trilogy will be sure to be a talking point at many a dinner party and for years to come.
