How much can I earn? An officer makes
£25,000 to £30,000; non-graduates could
start as assistants on around £16,000.

Corporate fundraiser
You'll be securing contributions from
companies and developing relationships to
ensure long-term funding. This may mean
organising events, making presentations,
recruiting volunteers, designing business
plans and working closely on campaigns,
as well as PR, marketing and promotion.
What skills and qualifications do
I need? Any degree will give you an
advantage when applying, and experience
in marketing is useful. Courses in
fundraising are also available.
How much can I earn? A full-time
fundraiser earns from £22,000 to £40,000,
depending on the size of the charity.

a broader range of perspectives in any organisation,
which in turn promotes better decisions and innovation.

diversity and inclusion, as
well as explaining to staff and
volunteers what is expected.
THE INSTITUTE OF FUNDRAISING
(institute-of-fundraising.org.uk),
which supports fundraisers and
champions fundraising as a career
choice, is keen to enhance diversity
and inclusion among its members
too and has a comprehensive
strategy in place to achieve this goal.

Policy researcher
Independent think tanks have an important
role to play in shaping society. The mission
of independent policy institutes is to find
solutions to some of the biggest challenges
facing our world today - from conflict to
climate change - to help governments
build a sustainably secure, prosperous and
just world. Research is integral to their
operations, but there are also opportunities
as outreach workers abroad, for example.
What skills and qualifications do I
need? A batchelor's degree is usually
required to become a researcher. You'll
also need strong IT skills and be able
to handle large volumes of data.
How much can I earn? As a research
associate you can expect to earn
over £30,000 a year, depending on
experience and location.
