19 Dec/Jan 2015 www.esb.ie/em BSC & Electric Ireland WIN A CHRISTMAS HAMPER P20 Launch of the PMO Project Management Development Programme ITS THE PMO CONTINUES its innovative drive with the launch of its latest initiative, the Project Management Development Programme. Designed around the PMO Framework, the programme will cover all project management and change management activities relating to the successful delivery of IT investments in ESB. Unlike short, concentrated training courses, the programme will be delivered throughout the year, with participants attending a two-hour session once a week. An audience of over 50 people, comprised of senior and middle managers plus the course attendees themselves, attended the launch held in the Conference Centre. ELECTRIC IRELAND celebrated the 1st birthday of their Online Switching Application: www.electricireland.ie/switch Since the switching application was enhanced it has delivered almost 15,000 online sales to Electric Ireland. Signing up online to Electric Ireland for either electricity or gas, or both, is even easier for customers and includes: * Clear cash savings and a simple illustration of how these savings are calculated * The facility for customers to choose their own price plan features thereby selecting their own cash savings * Clear and simple steps for customers before and after completing their switch online * Social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter to give customers the opportunity to share their electric Ireland savings with family and friends. n PM Development launch attendees: Front row - Maeve Rudden, Susan White, Vera Miller, Garbhan Blake. ITS PMO - Launch of the Project Management Development Programme Diarmuid Fenlon and Arthur Hutchinson. who took us through the programme approach, said: "This is a major investment by the organisation in our people but it is also a great opportunity for the attendees to develop their expertise and will be hugely beneficial to them in their career development in project management". The Project Management Development Programme is an integrated suite of training modules designed to support and develop the skills and experience of those pursuing a career in Project Management, Vera Miller, PMO Manager. It will cover all aspects of project and change management from concept and design, through execution, to delivery and transition to the live environment. In addition to the standard sessions, regular guest speaker sessions will be presented on specific subjects, with speakers coming from both inside ESB and external organisations. The Project Management Development Programme is the latest in a much wider suite of services from the PMO. The programme timetable commences on 4th November, with three parallel sessions running weekly. Over forty people will be attending, divided between the three sessions, making it a substantial commitment by ESB. Liam Molloy, CIO and Manager of ITS, said: "This programme will help further raise the professionalism of our project management and make us substantially less dependent on external third parties.
