Paul Stapleton, General Manager Electric Ireland, at the launch of Powering Kindness Week. ELECTRIC IRELAND'S Powering Kindness ran from the 17th - 23rd January and saw tens of thousands of kind deeds done for charity all over the country and further afield. Childline won the largest share of the €130,000 prizefund, taking away €60,000, with Marie Keating Foundation and the Irish Heart Foundation winning €40,000 and €30,000 respectively. We created a content hub on www.poweringkindness.ie which featured good deeds and stories of kindness throughout the week. John Sharry, Founder of Parents Plus Charity, launched the campaign for Electric Ireland in conjunction with Harvard's Making Caring Common project. The campaign ran on TV featuring Eoghan McDermott, Bernard Brogan and the Breakfast Republic team as well as on radio, online and in press. We created a content hub on www.poweringkindness.ie which featured good deeds and stories of kindness throughout the week. Over the week Electric Ireland's Powering Kindness quickly caught the imagination of the public and saw the support of well-known faces across the world including Piers Morgan, who promised not to say a single negative thing about Arsene Wenger for a week; footballing legend Matt Le Tissi- Miriam Brown presenting her 'act of kindness' to Chief Executive, Pat O'Doherty. Tom Bean serves up juices for Electric Ireland colleagues. The SMT team who served breakfast to staff pictured (l-r): Ronan Sheehy, Niall Dineen and Gerry Tallon. er who coached an under 12's football match, rugby legend Brian O'Driscoll who chased mice out of his house and his wife, actress Amy Huberman, who provided cheese for the mice. Singer Ronan Keating handed out chocolates on Grafton Street and Dublin GAA player Bernard Brogan visited a sick child in hospital. Niall Horan's tweet supporting Childline received over 12,000 retweets alone.
