Number 29 secures a Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice Award

THE NUMBER 29 MUSEUM reopened on June 20th 2013 after renovations. There has been a very positive response from our visitors to the new set-up and this has been reflected in the fact that Trip Advisor have selected Number 29 as the Travellers’ Choice Visitor Attraction for 2013 award-winner.

In partnership with The National Museum of Ireland, the Museum highlights life in Georgian Dublin in the period 1790 until 1820. The displays throughout the Museum are supplemented by using story boards which provide information on each room, and explain the operation of a townhouse in the Georgian period, which was lived in by an upper middle class family. Number 29 is open primarily on a self-guided basis for visitors to walk through and enjoy the Museum.

FOLLOWING THE SUCCESS of Dancergy in 2012, the 1990's fitness personality returned to power the picnic with a series of Dancergy sessions on the Electric Ireland sustainable energy dance floor. Festival-goers had the opportunity to take to the dance floor and generate power as the dance floor converts the kinetic energy of dancing people into electricity.

In addition this year, festival-goers were able to light-up the picnic at night with 5,000 Dancergy bands available from the Electric Ireland tent. Electric Ireland in-line with the sustainability ethos of the festival also provided 6km of energy efficient festoon lighting around the camp sites and walkways to the main arena to reduce the festival's lighting emissions by 80% and a bank of 25 solar panels to contribute towards the power requirement onsite.

Head and shoulders shot of

VINCENT DOYLE will have been known to many of you who either worked or passed through Head Office over the years. A valued member of ESB's Security Staff, Vincent spent a number of years on the Head Office Reception desk and was always helpful and friendly to all those who passed through or needed help or assistance.

Having joined ESB in 1985, Vincent worked all his career in Head Office Security. His good humour and professionalism was missed by all when he moved to the Merrion Square complex in 2010. However, Vincent made a point of keeping in touch with his many friends and always took an interest in with what was going on and how everyone was doing. His cheerful manner and his willingness to be always helpful were his trademarks and he was held in high regard by all those who crossed his path.

We wish Vincent many happy years in his retirement with plenty of long country walks in west Wick-low.
