Wicklow filmmakers Crossing the Line hit the international stage last year with an Emmy nomination for their film about tigers in India and are currently filming gorillas in the Congo for the BBC - but they are delighted to be bringing it all back home for The Secret Life of the Shannon.

MEET THE TEAM

Director: John Murray John is managing director of Crossing the Line Films. Over the last 12 years, he has directed over 30 films for some of the world's leading broadcasters and has won numerous national and international awards. He has also produced 70 other films with leading Irish and international directors. John graduated from Trinity College Dublin in Zoology before joining RTÉ as a presenter and reporter on nine different series of science, environmental and health programmes. He has made films about Mount Everest, the North Pole and the Sahara, among many other locations. He still likes to shoot and direct whenever he gets the chance.

Presenter: Colin Stafford-Johnson Emmy winning Colin Stafford-Johnson specialises in wildlife documentary making and over the last ten years has been involved in some of the most highly acclaimed wildlife productions. Over the past two decades, Colin has tracked and filmed animals all over the world, including jaguars in the Amazon and birds of paradise in New Guinea; many of his films have focused on big cats and he has spent almost 600 days filming tigers in India. For the last five years, Colin has presented Living the Wildlife, a very popular wildlife series for Irish television.
