Full dEtaIlS arE on pagE 14. Electric Ireland wins Social Media Award THE SECoNd aNNual Social Media awards, hosted by Bord Gais, took place on May 17th at the Mansion House, dublin. The awards honour businesses for innovation in their use of social media over the past year and recognises best practices in online interaction. Electric Ireland was well represented across many categories for a wide range of social media activity including ‘Tweet ‘em Home’ and ‘Tweet Hunt’ for Electric Picnic. The awards received twice as many entries as last year’s inaugural event. Nominations were received from more than 200 Irish companies. The competition was stiff in every category illustrating the talent in social media in Ireland today. However, Electric Ireland proved triumphant in the category ‘Best Integrated Social Media Campaign’. Electric Ireland scooped the award for their ‘Tweet ‘em Home’ campaign in 2011. We look forward to the rest of 2012 and the opportunity to create and develop award winning social media campaigns.
