THE SMALL FIRMS Associations (SFA) Better Business Show, a series of twelve free nationwide master classes in best practice for small businesses, was launched by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, Dublin recently. The series is designed to help owner-managers improve the efficiency of their business. This year’s series had four co-sponsors/partners; AIB, Eircom, Zurich and Electric Ireland. The theme for each series has changed over the years but the key issue focusing on reducing costs still remains the core message. Each partner including Electric Ireland had a 10 minute speaking opportunity at each event. Participants were also encouraged to visit an Electric Ireland stand to discuss Electric Ireland’s latest product and service offers for small to medium sized businesses.

Electric Ireland coming away with an unprecedented amount of awards - in every colour!

THE LONG awaited APMC (Association of Promotional Marketing Consultants) Awards took place on April 20th, at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Golden Lane. This awards event, which has been running since 1992, is among the leading awards ceremonies in the sales and marketing community’s annual calendar. It attracts a huge number of entries every year, with the country’s top agencies and biggest brands competing for honours.

As you can imagine, there is always stiff competition in every category, and this year was no exception, with everybody looking for wins in the industry and technical categories, which makes our Electric Ireland success even sweeter. All of our hard work was proven to have paid off on, with Electric Ireland coming away with an unprecedented amount of awards - in every colour!

From 10 nominations, we took 8 awards - 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze.

It’s a credit to everybody involved that the care and attention that went in to these winning campaigns was so worth the extra effort. What it shows us is that innovative thinking, combined with creativity, and an understanding of the importance of execution, can result in tremendous success for our brand.

I’m sure you’ll join me in offering huge congratulations to all of the marketing team and to our agency Tequila and - we’re already looking forward to next year.

SUMMER MONTHS are fast approaching and it is time to think of outside.

Make the most of your garden, deck or outdoor area and light it up with a set of two solar spotlights. The Solar Landscape Spotlights contain 6 super bright LEDs in each light fitting and can comfortably light up to a range of 20 metres. The solar lights can be positioned up to five meters away from the solar panel enabling the lights to be placed in shaded areas were they wouldn’t normally charge during the day. This product was one of our Top Sellers in April.

Another Top Selling products is the Solar PIR Utility Light which can be used inside as a solar shed light or outside as a solar security light. This light is powerful and super bright.
