ESB scoops top award for Annual Accounts Report
ESB has been named as the Overall winner of this year’s Published Accounts Awards and has also been placed first in the statutory unquoted companies category. The Awards, which are hosted by the Leinster Society of Chartered Accountants, took place on November 24th in The Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin.
Tough competition was provided by 29 shortlisted finalists, which included CRH, Elan, Smurfit Kappa, Fyffes and Kerry Group. This is the first time that an unquoted company has won the overall award.
Speaking at the presentation of the Published Accounts Awards, Frank Gannon, Chairman, Chartered Accountants Leinster Society, said: “the Awards recognise and reward the commitment shown by Irish companies in seeking excellence in financial reporting. The Awards provide an important, independent benchmark that set and showcase best practice standards in the communication and presentation of financial information”.
