SERVICES AND ESB ELECTRIC IRELAND
Aug/Sept 2011 www.esb.ie/em
Last log-off for ITS CS unit
THE COMPUTER SERVICES Unit closed its doors recently after more than 25 years in operation. This unit provided a service to ESB Electric Ireland, ESB Networks and Payroll, BSC.
All ESB bills and all communication to our Customers via letter, together with all Staff and Pensioner Payroll slips were printed in the CSU by a loyal and committed team who provided this service over the years.
In 2009 the work was granted to DAFIL after a procurement process which saw the company win the business to print all bills, letters and payslips.
While a number of the team retired, two members remained to oversee the service move smoothly to DAFIL - initially ESB bills, followed by payroll print and finally ESB Networks letters in April of this year.
Ably led by Charlie Brock and Liam Groome, the team of Joe Walker, Peter Whelan, Frank Bellew, Willie O’Neill and John Carroll ensured that all items for print were printed and despatched on time every time for ESB Electric Ireland, ESB Networks and payroll to the highest standards.
This is the end of another era in ESB history and we will look back fondly at memories of the team’s time in CSU. We in ITS wish the former team members all the best in the future, be they within ESB or in leisurely pursuits for those that have retired.

The ESB Education Bursary Scheme is open to eligible dependent children of regular full-time staff, regular part-time staff currently employed in ESB/ESBI (including those on secondment), to children of staff in receipt of ongoing VSS payments and to children of retired and deceased staff.
Children who are eligible to apply for the separate ESB Education Awards Scheme and who meet the entry conditions specified by CAO/HETAC (or equivalent accrediting institution) are not eligible to apply for the ESB Education Bursary.
There is a limit of one entry per student, and a family may be in receipt of only one ESB Education Bursary or Education Award at any time.
