New Corporate Communications service

 Image shows a screen shot of the new ESB Coporate Communications ezine that is sent around to staff

ESB COMMUNICATES with staff through a number of different channels including verbal briefings, direct mail, mobile phone text messages, notice boards, EM etc. In addition, staff who have ESB IT Network Accounts for the purpose of conducting their normal work duties have ready access to ESBnet (ESB’s Staff intranet Site) and receive direct ESB email communications thereby giving them more immediate access to company wide communications.

Corporate Communications is pleased to launch a pilot communications service, for permanent staff initially, to opt-in to receive certain business related e-mail communications directly to their personal e-mail address e.g. @hotmail.com, @gmail.com, @eircom.net etc. This means that by subscribing to this service staff will receive high priority communications promptly and at exactly the same time as those who have ESB email accounts. The e-mails can be delivered to home PCs, lap-tops and mobile devices (such as iPhones etc.). We would encourage staff, who do not have access to ESB email accounts, to subscribe to this service for the following reasons:

  • You will get important company information more promptly and in a user-friendly way;
  • You can raise questions and give feedback on the issues covered by the communications received;
  • The service is free and secure and your personal e-mail contact details will not be used for any other purpose;
  • You can unsubscribe from this service at any time you wish.

A letter will shortly be sent to all staff who do not have access to ESB email accounts inviting them to subscribe to this new service.

ESB ECARS AND Irish Ferries officially launched onboard charge points on the Dublin-Holyhead and Rosslare-Cherbourg/Roscoff routes, which means electric and hybrid car travel to Britain and France is now possible.

A dedicated electric car charging area is now available to ensure motorists can access this free service during the crossing so that their cars are charged by the time they reach their destination port. These charge points are operational on Irish Ferries’ Ulysses and Oscar Wilde vessels and will be extended to the rest of the company’s fleet.

Speaking at the launch, ESB ecars Managing Director Paul Mulvaney said, “As part of the roll out of electric car charge points, this new development of onboard charging extends the infrastructure to enable electric car drivers to travel to foreign destinations. The availability of charge points in a wide variety of convenient locations will help to further promote the adoption of electric cars in Ireland.”
