Customers can receive gas from us at a price that is up to 6% lower than Bord Gais’ unit rates. • ‘Dual fuel’ discounts: We are now a dual fuel supplier and are offering discounts of up to 6% off gas prices and up to 17% off electricity prices to customers who have both their gas and electricity supplied by us. • A new bill for all gas and electricity customers: following customer feedback, we have developed a more user-friendly bill that enables us to better meet the billing needs of our customers. • An expanded telesales capability and the introduction of two new sales channels: online and field sales. all of our initiatives will be supported by strong advertising campaigns, including: sponsorship, tv and radio advertising, etc. “i believe our new capabilities and offers will significantly help us to compete effectively in the irish energy market,” said ESB Electric Ireland General Manager Liam Molloy. “the support and commitment from all staff in ESB Electric ireland and across ESB has been critical to getting us to where we are and is central to our aim of remaining ireland’s leading energy solutions business.” n International Award eSb networkS ltd page 19 Chief Executive announces retirement ESB ChiEf ExECutivE Padraig McManus informed the company’s board on Wednesday March 23rd that he intends to retire from the post after serving in the role for nine years. he will remain in his post until his successor is appointed. Padraig was appointed Chief Executive in february 2002 for a sevenyear period and his contract was later extended by three years. the Chairman of ESB, Lochlann Quinn, described Padraig’s tenure as one of exceptional achievement. “under Padraig’s leadership, ESB has grown to become a company with annual revenues in excess of €3 billion, investing almost €1 billion each year in infrastructure and paying one-third of its profits to the Exchequer. Since 2002, ESB has paid €1.2 billion in dividends and subsidies for electricity prices, while building one of the safest and most reliable national electricity networks in the world. Meanwhile, it has continued to invest heavily in renewable energy, modernise its power generation portfolio and support major sustainability projects.
