We strive to ensure our activities avoid injury or ill health and we continue to make progress towards our goal of zero injuries. in support of this goal a number of objectives were established for safety Management, Lost time injury reduction, incident reporting, risk Assessment, Process safety, safe Driving, it systems and organisational Health. externally validated and certified safety Management systems are being introduced and embedded across all businesses in esB. Lost time injuries for both staff and contractors are significantly diminished in number and severity. Near Miss and Good Catch reporting is increasing and all incidents that have potential for serious harm are investigated and the learning shared. risk Assessment, the corner stone of safety and health management, was reviewed to ensure all business areas were applying consistent best practices. A review of process safety was initiated to examine current controls and reporting arrangements. this will conclude during 2011. While driving continues to be a significant risk generally on public roads, the number and severity of collisions in esB has once again decreased.
