Staff reported to their assigned location or to head Office the next morning. transport was provided to both hotsite locations, with 12 staff working in leopardstown road and 15 staff working in Swords at hP’s offices. ItS and Shared Services supported Et&r in the use of the facility along with the hP team based there. ESB Business Continuity representatives acted as observers over the two days and a review of the exercise will help identify updates to the current BCP Plan. Et&r management thank all staff both in Et&r and the wider ESB for their contribution to the exercise. ET&R thE 8th and 9th november saw Energy trading and regulation (Et&r) successfully execute a short-notice Business Continuity Plan test. the exercise practised the invocation procedure in the event of loss of premises and tested Et&r’s ability to operate from a combination of its dedicated hotsite in leopardstown and ESB’s main hotsite in Swords. the test commenced at 14:30 when head Office security staff initiated an evacuation to Merrion Square. this was followed by an initial management meeting in Stephen Court where tasks were prioritised and assigned. the end of the exercise saw all staff meet in Stephen Court where their work lo- Five Years: John McSweeney (seated centre) pictured with recipients of their five years Long Service Award. Moneypoint Bicycle Initiative ESBI tO BEttEr promote alternative forms of transport at Moneypoint, ten bicycles have been rolled out across the site and, since Sustainability Week, close to 100 staff have signed up to the scheme. Clare Schools ESBI aS Part OF Moneypoint’s sustainability drive, local school children were invited to enter a competition to design a logo which could be incorporated into the side panels of the station’s bio-diesel vans. Following an excellent response from schools across Co. Clare, five winners were selected, each receiving a Wattson energy meter, with first and second places also awarded a food waste composter. Members of the Sustainability Committee presented these prizes to the schools and also gave a talk on energy usage, conservation and sustainability. Moneypoint now has five very colourful Citroen Berlingo vans on site bearing a collage of the logos designed by the children. the Sustainability Committee brought each van back to the relevant schools to show the children the fruits of their labours. the Committee would like to thank all the schools who took part, in particular the children who put so much effort into their designs. the winning schools were Kilmaley national School, Clarecastle national School, Bodyke national School, holy Family Junior School and Bansha national School. n 35 Years: Pictured with their wives and partners at a reception to honour their service to ESB are: Back row (l-r): Damien O’Keeffe (40 years), Mick Sherlock (35 years), Mick O’Brien (40 years), Jimmy King (40 years), Brian Mimnagh (40 years), Brian Carson (35 years), John Higgins (35 years) and Pat O’Doherty, Executive Director ESBEI, who made the presentations on the night.
