Research following the 20,000 free surveys carried out by the eSB haLo team, also highlighted that 50% of home owners would consider investing in renewable energy solutions, with solar thermal ranked as the most appealing product. Recognising the growing interest for and genuine appeal of sustainable energy solutions, eSB created the haLo installation Service, which is a total one-stop solution to home energy needs, from insulating your walls to solar panels on your roof. eSB haLo provides homeowners with the products and installation services they need to maximise savings and minimise their carbon footprint. Rte’s dermot Bannon said, “i am delighted to join eSB in launching such a necessary service like haLo. as an architect by profession, you simply cannot ignore the movement there is towards sustainable energy solutions when designing homes. while energy efficiency mightn’t have been a familiar concept to most a few years ago, it is very much the buzz word of today and the future when considering energy products for the home. haLo simplifies this process perfectly by guiding homeowners through the steps they can take towards creating a warmer home, while reducing their bills and their carbon footprint.” Paul Cullen, CREST Project Manager with the project team. eSB eneRgy Solutions has started the next phase of its ‘fightback’ by preparing to enter the gas retail market. the launch of gas offerings next year to all customers will enable us to become a dual fuel supplier, and will help position eSB energy Solutions as an even stronger competitor in the irish retail energy market. to ensure our gas launch is successful we are running a staff gas pilot to confirm that our systems and processes are working correctly. Our fight back to date… in april 2010, ceR issued a ‘Roadmap to deregulation’, which determined when and how eSB energy Solutions could ‘fight back’. it outlined that we could start offering competitive prices once we met certain criteria. in Quarter 3 2010 energy Solutions met the deregulation criteria for business customers and ceR agreed that we could start to fight back and launch competitive electricity price plans to the business markets. our new business price plans are performing well in the market and we are exceeding our retention targets. customers are very receptive to contact from eSB energy Solutions and we are continually looking at how to position our offers to make them more competitive and compelling to both existing and previously lost customers. ESB Energy Solution launches gas the launch of eSB energy Solutions’ gas is the second phase of our fight-back and it will enable us to become a dual fuel supplier, further increasing our attractiveness in the competitive market. in november 2010 we passed all internal and external testing of our key systems and processes and we are on track to enter the market in 2011. The staff gas pilot in order to ensure our gas launch is successful, we are running a Staff gas Pilot. the pilot will enable us to confirm our systems and processes are working correctly in the live environment before the public launch in the new year. the pilot will run for up to four months. it is an active pilot where the staff who are participating, will switch to eSB energy Solutions gas from their previous provider and they will complete a number of tasks using their gas account information, for example, providing a meter reading. “Support for ESB Energy Solutions’ fight back is fantastic, as evidenced by the number of staff who signed-up for the gas pilot. Within the first three days of launching the pilot recruitment campaign over 500 staff signedup. Thank you very much for your ongoing support. We will continue to update you on our progress.” Paul Cullen, CREST Project Manager. n ESB Energy Saving Wizard recommendations on how to reduce energy bills, and make their home a cosier place to live. it also gives estimated costs for the supply and installation of the different measures in addition to the co2 Savings.
