We thank Joe for his excellent contribution to the eAP over the years and wish Joe and his family the very best of luck for the future. The purpose of the eAP is to provide serving and retired staff and management with access to professional and confidential help towards resolving difficult personal situations. Modern business experience shows that employees need appropriate support if high-performance standards are to be achieved. The esB approach to employee assistance is outlined in the following eAP Policy statement, “esB accepts that unresolved personal problems can be a cause of serious disruption of individual and family life and can impact seriously on work performance. in line with its employees Charter, esB therefore wishes to provide its employees with the opportunity to obtain appropriate confidential guidance and counselling, to assist them in dealing with such problems. This service will be provided through a professional employee Assistance Programme.” n Niall can be contacted on phone 7026705 or mobile 087 6130 975 or by e-mail at niall.oconnor@esb. ie.
