Distribution Solutions
As streaming technology continues to grow in importance for broadcasters, the need for

Cheetah Flex
With core competencies in traditional
broadcast
television
routing,
streaming video encoding / decoding,
and signal management support,
PESA has developed the Cheetah
Flex solution, which incorporates the
award-winning PESA Blade System
(PBS) into its established Cheetah
digital video router product line.
The PBS is housed in the 2 RU
openGear chassis, which holds up
to 10 cards and is installed adjacent
to traditional baseband routing
hardware within a Cheetah frame. The
result is a seamless hybrid routing
environment that supports up to 4K
video resolutions along with streaming
video sources. The integrated routing
environment is managed through
PESA's Cattrax control software.
For IP-based sources, PESA offers
two dual-channel H.264 encoding
and decoding cards. Both the C22PBS, which supports RTSP and RTMP
streams, and the C22-PBS-T, which
supports MPEG transport streams,
are based on the PESA XSTREAM C22
compact streaming appliance.
Each C22 card can be configured
as a two-port video encoder, twoport decoder, or include one of
each. Two external audio sources
can be synchronised to either or
both video streams during an event.
The C22s feature HDMI I/O ports
for encoding HDMI sources or local
HDMI monitoring, as well as an
OLED displaying the IP address of
the card for easy identification and
configuration. PESA is also developing
proprietary cards to manage signal
conversion and scaling, and Cobalt
Digital's 9970-QS multi-viewer card
can be incorporated into the Cheetah
Flex environment, in addition to
Cobalt's full line of digital glue to
maximize functionality for end users.

PESA XSTREAM R3232
PESA (a member of the NewTek
Developer Network) has developed
the PESA XSTREAM R3232 router
for use with TriCaster multi-camera
video production systems. The new
router offers 32 3G-SDI I/O, which
significantly expands TriCaster's access
to video sources. NewTek's native
support for PESA's P1N router control
protocol allows all professional grade
TriCaster systems to control the new
R3232 router from the TriCaster GUI.
Plus, all of TriCaster's SDI outputs
can be connected as sources through
the R3232 and routed to multiple
downstream devices.

Collaborative Content Management,
a rich media enabled capture and
management solution. Short for
Acquire, Collaborate, Explain, and
Secure, PESA ACES is configured as
a two or five-channel video system,
with the flexibility to add additional
channels and seats licenses. It
combines the PESA XSTREAM C58 or
C22 multi-channel streaming media
appliance with VIQ Satellite software
for sophisticated file capture and
management.
Ideal for law enforcement, PESA
ACES can also be customised
for financial, judicial, medical,
transportation, command and control,
and other markets. When combined
with PESA HD cameras, you have a
turnkey interview room system. The
comprehensive recording and playback
system
simplifies
collaboration.
The system architecture includes a
regional server that automatically
syncs files from fixed and/or mobile

recording stations. Authorised users
access files via the secure, browserbased AccessPOINT Portal.
Cheetah 4K
Interest in 4K continues to grow, and
PESA's Cheetah routing switchers are
available in multiple configurations
to manage 4K signals. PESA also
offers a simple plug-and-play 4K
upgrade for existing Cheetah 3G-SDI
routers. Its 4K I/O card is a direct
drop-in replacement for the Cheetah's
standard 16-channel HD/3G-SDI card.
Any size Cheetah 3G-SDI routing
switcher can be retrofitted with the
new Cheetah 4K I/O card system by
replacing any existing 16-channel
I/O card set and reconfiguring the
software to accept the new 4K cards.
Both UHDTV (3840x2160) and DCI
(4096x2160) are supported, and the

router can mix and match between 4K
CWDM and traditional copper or fibre
I/O in the frame. Once configured for
4K, the router can run both 4K and
3G-SDI signals in parallel.
Vidblox HTR HDMI
Finally, the new award-winning
Vidblox HTR converter/extender is an
affordable way to add long distance
HDMI connectivity to existing facilities,
or compensate for signal loss for wall
processors and other monitoring
applications. Each compact module
can be easily configured by the user
as a transmitter (TX) or receiver (RX).
Vidblox HTR supports a wide variety
of resolutions, is backward compatible
with Cheetah routers, and supports up
to four identical inputs or outputs.
