(MAM) solution, as well as unveil new

Migrating To 4K/UHD
With Xstream EFS
New
options
for
storage
infrastructure to support collaborative,
high-bandwidth demands: XStream
EFS (EditShare File System) combines
its advanced EFS distributed file
system with intelligent load balancing,
a scalable, fault-tolerant architecture
and
cost-effective
connectivity;
offering facilities resilient, highbandwidth enterprise-class storage
platform that can scale 5PB and
beyond with mixed drive technology.
Announced at NAB 2016 and on
show for the first time at IBC, XStream
EFS-SSD comes in 8TB, 16TB and 24TB
chassis options. XStream EFS-SSD can
scale from a single server to multinode clusters providing many PBs
of high-bandwidth storage to meet
4K/UHD workflow needs. Combined
with HDD storage nodes, the agile
EFS platform can support mixed
storage configurations within a single

centralised multi-node server. With
a mixed capacity of HDD and SSDbased storage nodes in a single EFS
cluster and namespace, Media Spaces
can be assigned to specific types
of storage node with individual file
protection mechanisms. This unique
approach allows administrators to
redirect storage nodes to support
specific media functions, optimising
performance and budgetary storage
requirements from a single XStream
EFS environment.
XStream EFS also provides native
drives for Windows, Mac OS and
Linux, that offers direct connections
to all nodes providing vastly improved
performance and availability when
compared to SMB and AFP network
protocols. The inclusion of highavailability options further reduces
access latency and provides a
complete 'no single point of failure'
configuration
nearly
eliminating
downtime. As with all XStream storage
solutions, XStream EFS also seamlessly
integrates with the Flow MAM and Flow
modules, allowing users to log, track,
search and retrieve 4K/UHD assets and

Remote Editing With Flow Story
The
first
content
creation
application for collaborative and
remote workflows: EditShare has
utilised the engine of the awardwinning
Lightworks
editor
to
create the powerful and intuitive
editorial application EditShare Flow
Story, aimed at fast turnaround
environments such as editorial, reality
TV, news and sports. Unlike traditional
NLEs, Flow Story provides remote and
secure access to on-premise stored
media directly through any Internet
connection. With unique finishing
tools including integration with Audio
Network, which allows users to browse
and add MP3 audio files directly to
their sequence, Flow Story provides
users the ability to package content for
finishing, delivery or playout.

Flow MAM: Automated QC And
File Transfer Workflows
Expanding Flow workflow options
with third-party integrations: A
commitment to an open platform,
EditShare has added support for
Aspera's FASP accelerated transfer
technology and seamless integration
with leading QC solutions from Interra
Systems and Vidcheck.
For customers using Aspera's
FASP technology, the enhanced
Flow workflow initiates, controls
and monitors transfers of assets
between local and remote Aspera
servers. This new capability can be
automated for any workflow through
the Flow Automation module. Shown
at IBC2016, the enhanced Flow
QC workflow triggers and tracks
QC processes with capabilities to

automate "next-step" tasks based
on (pass/fail) QC verification reports.
QC reports can also be stored in the
Flow database as PDFs for fast and
