Ready Solution
MuxLab has announced its first SMPTE
ST 2110-ready solution for AV over IP....

roadcasters
have
already
embraced the AV over IP protocol
and ST-2110 solutions ensure that all
equipment on the content stream will
work perfectly together.
At its core the SMPTE ST
2110 protocol enables each AV
signal transported over IP to be
synchronised, vastly improving and
enhancing overall signal delivery while
ensuring greater compatibility among
various ST-2110 equipment.

IP

Uncompressed
Extender
(model
500767) allows HD-SDI, 3G-SDI and
6G-SDI equipment to be extended
up to 100ft (30m) via UTP Cat 5e/6
cable, or up to 1300ft (400m) via
duplex multimode OM4 fibre with LC
connectors. (See Fig.1) Uncompressed
resolutions up to 4K (3840×2160) @
30Hz are supported in a point-to-point
configuration.
Point-to-multipoint
and
multipoint-to-multipoint

configurations are also possible by
connecting several units to a 10Gig
Ethernet network. The unit provides
a 1Gig Ethernet Switch port to connect
additional network devices, and an
RS232 port for remote control of end
devices. This model is ready to receive
a free software upgrade to support
ST-2110, which will be made available
in 2018.
When
using
the
IP-based
configuration of this Extender,
hundreds of sources and displays
can be supported on the same IP
infrastructure. A virtual matrix of
broadcast cameras, mixers, displays
and other equipment may be
interconnected and rearranged at the
click of a mouse, all managed from a
central location.

new SMPTE standard. This Extender
provides unprecedented flexibility and
delivers uncompressed video with no
latency, which is fundamental in this
industry," added MuxLab's Product
Manager, Joe Teixeira.
MuxLab Pro Digital Network
Controller (model 500811) can
be used to simplify the AV over
IP
configuration,
and
allows
smartphones and tablets to control
the devices. The Controller will scan
the local network for connected
devices, allowing configuration and
access through a web interface or

mobile App. It can be managed from
within the LAN or off-site.
MuxLab's new App, due in 2018
for iOS and Android, works with the
Controller and offers an intuitive
way to control AV over IP sources
and displays with smart options like
custom graphics of colour-coded
equipment for instant identification.
Users can manage the connectivity of
any source to any display and manage
multiple sites using graphical floor
plans. Systems can also be configured
with presets to handle repetitive or
