InBroadcast: Tell us about your
company and its core target
audience?
Pooyan Farnam: Founded in
Dubai, UAE in 2002, Advanced Media
Trading (AMT) has grown from a
two-man shop to one of the largest
suppliers of broadcast, professional
video, and photography equipment
and accessories in the Middle East.
Advanced Media covers the Middle
East and North Africa, and is engaged
in every aspect of the broadcast,
professional video, and photography
industry, including sales, consultancy,
installation, training, and service and
maintenance. AMT deals with around
100 well-known brands in the cinema,
broadcast, video, and photography
industry within its portfolio.
Some of the company's well-known
customers are Dubai TV, Sharjah TV,
MBC, Qatar TV, Al Jazeera, Saudi TV,
twofour54, Al Majd TV, Oman TV,
Higher College of Technology, Gamma
Engineering, In-House Production,
Light house studios, Dubai Film,
and many famous electronic and
photography Chain Stores in the
region.
InB: How important is CABSAT
for your business? What are your
reasons for taking part in the
event?
PF: CABSAT is a leading platform
for the broadcast and production
industries in the Middle East and
North Africa. This gives us a good

opportunity to showcase our latest
brands and products to all our existing
and new customers. It is also a good
chance to study the market demand
and trends, as well as, face to face
contacts with our dealers and the end
users.
InB: Can you give us a brief
overview of what we can expect to
see at your stand during CABSAT
2017?
PF: We always showcase the most
recent and exciting broadcast and
professional video products on our
stand. Over 100 products will be
displayed in total, covering every
corner and section of AMT's booth.
This year the key areas will be
Sony Camcorders and production
equipment, Integration and mixers,
RED digital cinema, Broadcast, cinema
and video lenses from Zeiss and
Angénieux, DJI drones and flying zone,
Studio and production Lighting, High
End Photography by Hasselblad and
Profoto, Smartphone videography,
Camera support and accessories
etc. Other top brands on our stands
are Manfrotto, SWIT, Atomos, Zeiss,
Cartoni, Audio Technica, Filmgear,
G-Technology, Zacuto, Metabones,
Teradek, Freefly and etc.
InB: Any specific product/s taking
centre stage this year?
PF: Some of the top new products
that we will show for the very first
time in the Exhibition are Sony PXWAdvanced Media Trading's
stand at CABSAT 2016

InB: What challenges do you face
when launching a new product?
PF: When a new product is launched,
depending on the demand and
uniqueness of that product in the
market, we can forecast a big demand
from existing and new customers in
the first few months. Otherwise, if
the product is not relatively new and
not in a high demand, it requires a
lot of product marketing and training
to make it known and popular in the
region.
InB: What initiatives will you be
taking to ensure your products/
services stand out and outshine the
competition?
PF: With a dedicated team of
professional and certified staff,
Advanced Media offers one of the best
service centres in the Middle East for
broadcast, professional video, and
photo equipment and accessories.
Advanced Media is the authorised
service centre for Sony Professional,
Profoto, Filmgear, Manfrotto, Tokina,

SWIT, Glidecam, and authorised Lens
Service Centre.
Moreover, Advanced Media has
established a professional Lens
Maintenance Centre equipped with all
the essential tools for repairing any
types of broadcast and professional
lenses including: 2/3" HD-SD; ENG;
EFP/box, and PL mount/Cine lenses,
such as Fujinon, Canon, Zeiss, Arri,
and Angénieux.
InB: Will you be hosting any press
conferences/events at CABSAT and
Content Marketplace 2016?
PF: We will have a Supplier/Dealer
event outside the exhibition centre, on
the second evening.
InB: Why is the Middle East
an important market for your
business?
PF: Our main operation and strength
is in the Middle East market, and
we do business with North African
countries as well. For most of our
key brands, we have the distribution
exclusivity in the Middle East.
