Will be Showing Off a Major Update
The bestseller will feature greater load-bearing capacity in time for NAB 2016...

F

or decades, the rugged Video
18 head remained a staple in
camera kits of successful EFP and
EB cameramen around the globe.
Now, just in time for NAB 2016, this
bestseller will receive a refresh that
will give owners more load-bearing
capacity.
With 4kg more payload than the
Video 18 S1, the head will now offer
a total payload of 20kg at 125mm
centre of gravity. Because of this
improvement, the Video 18 S2 is
now the only head in its class that
can operate at -40 to +60 degrees
centigrade without any influence on
its smooth operation.
As a cinematographer, filmmaker,
producer, and audio recording
engineer, Clinton Harn has not only
shot for two-time Academy Award
Winner and Director, Malcolm Clark,
but has also worked as an AC and
camera operator for Rodney Charters,
ASC who's known for shows like 24,
Dallas, and Shameless.

"The more you can carry on the
tripod, the easier it is to function with
both the heaviest and the lightest
payload. With certain competitors,
their tripods can carry a heavier
payload, but then the minute you
try to adjust your parameters to
accommodate a lighter one, it feels
incredibly stiff and cocky," mentioned

The new BlueBox BBWR24MP

adding a multichannel workstation
interface facility. The 24-channel live
audio acquisition solution delivers
all the standard BlackBox Recorder
functionality, featuring 24 high-quality
microphone preamps operating at

up to 24bit/96kHz, integrated into
the recorder's compact 1U housing.
However, the workstation interface
can be used in the field to provide
a simultaneous backup recording
onto a laptop, allowing one disk to be
dispatched to the post facility whilst
a backup copy can be kept by the
sound recordist, without requiring any
copying time.
Designed with the broadcast
engineer and sound location recordist
in mind, the BBWR24MP offers a
range of connection options including
individually
switchable
mic/line
inputs and balanced outputs. Full
synchronisation to video, timecode,
and word clock is provided as
standard. Microphones can either be
connected to the unit via tails from
the rear D-Sub connectors, or via an
optional 2U breakout panel with XLR
connectors.

an external USB2/3 drive in Broadcast
WAV format for instant ingest into
post-production. The BBWR24MP can
create a simultaneous stereo mixdown
alongside the multi-channel ISO tracks
- full support for iXML data is included.
The BBWR24MP can use a 12V power
source, and unused channels and
features can be disabled to preserve
battery life on location.
The unit is fully controllable via
JoeCoRemote for iPad or via the
host computer with level, mic/line,
phantom power, hi-pass filter, soft
limiter, and phase reverse adjustable
for every channel including highresolution meters.
The BlueBox Workstation interface
is compatible with both Mac OSX using

Core Audio, and Windows PC lowlatency drivers, and can be used with
any workstation software on these
platforms. The BlueBox can also be
used in a studio situation where highquality multichannel audio interfaces
are needed, again providing backup
recordings of the live input to guard
against workstation problems and
crashes.
