Inﬁnity Set V1.2 at
NAB Show 2015
Inﬁnity Set V1.2 will further enhance Brainstorm's groundbreaking virtual studio system...

A

t last year's NAB Show,
Brainstorm Multimedia launched
the product developed to revolutionise
virtual studio production - the Inﬁnity
Set. Inﬁnity Set is the most advanced
virtual set solution there is. One year
later, Brainstorm is proud to announce
Inﬁnity Set V1.2, in three different
conﬁgurations, which gives users
access to even greater possibilities of
creating highly realistic and visually
stunning virtual studio environments.
Inﬁnity Set takes realism to new
levels as it can generate a true 3D
representation of the live character
from a video feed, generating a realtime 3D volume, which is continuously
regenerated,
repositioned,
and
remapped, based on the image coming
from the camera. This patented
technology also allows the character
to cast real shadows over virtual 3D
elements, while interacting with any
element in the scene. The advanced
compositing features of Inﬁnity Set
allow designers and producers to
create truly realistic, real-time 3D
scenes, where the different elements
behave like those of the real world, not
like video layers, or the classic chroma
keyed image over a background.
Inﬁnity Set can handle multiple input
sources, regardless of whether they
come from real cameras or video
feeds, and the resulting scenes can be
as complex as required, with multiple
elements interacting in the virtual
environment.

In addition, Inﬁnity Set includes
a complete real-time 3D graphics
toolset, allowing the seamless
integration of 3D objects within the
scene, and imported from a variety of
third party packages. Compositions
created in Brainstorm's Aston 3D
can also be included, even when
integrated with external data sources
for data-driven graphics, such as bar
and pie charts, statistics, and many
more. These objects can be edited and
further animated within Inﬁnity Set,
creating complete productions and
shows; and played out directly from
Inﬁnity Set, or via external applications
provided by Brainstorm's OnDemand
playout system.
TrackFree
Inﬁnity Set features new tracking
technologies that allow merging
the best of both the tracked and
trackless worlds, while including
new possibilities for advanced
Augmented Reality
applications.
TrackFree is a totally new and
revolutionary approach to virtual set
production, developed by Brainstorm.
It is a camera tracking independent
technology, which combines in a
single virtual camera the precision and
higher quality of the most complex
camera tracking systems with the
ﬂexibility, freedom, and ease of use
of modern trackless systems such as
Brainstorm's EasySet 3D. TrackFree
can be used in combination with

the integrated internal chroma key
software, or with external chroma
key hardware, even within the same
production. The whole composition is
created within Inﬁnity Set, embedding
the keyed feed into the virtual set,
as opposed to standard chroma key
layering, where the image is presented
as a live sticker. As the keyed image is
now an object within the scene, it can
cast shadows over other 3D elements
in the scenario and interact with them
in the 3D space.
TeleTransporter
With Inﬁnity Set, real-time tracking
data embedded in real cameras
and post-production tracking data
included in pre-recorded video,
can immediately be applied to the
parameters of the virtual cameras.
This allows the seamless combination
of 3D virtual sets with real characters
and pre-recorded video feeds,
all moving together with precise
perspective matching. This is thanks
to TrackFree technology, and because
of the combination of the tracking data
of the video feed and the virtual set,
permitting:
*	 eal-time	insertions	of	the	live

character in a live event;

character in an event that happened
in the past; and
*	 eal-time	insertions	of	a

prerecorded character in an event
set to happen in the future.
