52 www.inbroadcast.com | IBC2015 InShow Guide | 11-15 September Audio Launches Fully Digital Wireless Microphone System The new 1010 system, which is on show at this year's IBC, is the fully digital successor to Audio's highly respected RMS2040 wireless microphone system.... T he 1010 transmitter and receiver have been designed to match the rich sound and rugged reliability that the 2040 is known for but also to deliver the precision that digital technology can offer. As a result, according to Kishore Patel, Audio's Managing Director, the 1010 answers the key questions currently being asked of The 1010 system allows up to 20 systems to operate together in just one TV channel manufacturers by the industry. "Understandably, sound recordists are insisting that if they make an investment in new equipment it should be able to cope with the way available bandwidth is being squeezed. So we've designed the 1010 system to allow up to 20 systems to operate together in just one TV channel. We've also equipped it with 100MHz switching bandwidth - which we think will deliver maximum flexibility." "Battery life is another concern," says Patel. "The 1010 transmitter has a switchable power output and operates at 50mW or 10mW using two 1.5V LR6 AA batteries." Audio has also created a fast proprietary codec to convert the analogue signal to digital and back again. "We've spent several years developing the algorithm and we have reduced the delay to just 2mS," Patel explains. "This is measured endto-end as well not just across signal processing which is the data you'll see for some other digital systems." The receiver is true diversity with analogue and AES digital outputs, is SuperSlot compatible and features full encryption while the TX transmitter has a built-in microSD card slot which can be used to update the system's firmware. Both transmitter and receiver have black anodised cases machined from solid high grade aluminium and maximum clarity OLED menu driven select and click displays that make set-up and operation very simple. The receiver's display also flips so that it can be seen when the unit is lying The 1010 will be available in September 2015 flat or is in a bag. Brightness can be reduced or the screens turned off entirely to conserve power. Patel concludes: "There's even an app which controls the main functions on the transmitter from your phone or iPad and monitors battery levels." The 1010 system will be available in September 2015.http://www.inbroadcast.com http://www.audioltd.com/ http://www.audioltd.com/
