GLOOKAST Creates Shared Storage
Intelligent Media Hub With Launch Of
glooport media|flex

LOOKAST, an innovator in MXF
workflow solutions for broadcast,
drama production and business
continuity, has announced the launch
of glooport media|flex for NEXIS, a
shared storage intelligence layer fully
integrated with Avid NEXIS to create a
flexible media hub.
As an Avid Alliance partner, GLOOKAST
has maintained a strong collaborative
relationship with Avid for several
years, enabling the company to
deliver a host of benefits to Avid
users, including improved workflows
and significant time and cost savings,
resulting in increased efficacy. The
latest development as a result of this,
is the launch of the new glooport
media|flex for NEXIS.
The new media|flex for NEXIS is
based on the same technology and
distributed services of the glooport

family, but optimised for use with Avid
NEXIS. It is the first shared storage
intelligence layer that addresses
most of the common workflow and
operational issues experienced in
the absence of an asset management
platform, as well as the challenges
associated with the increasing
dynamism of production and postproduction
workflows.
Designed
specifically for Avid NEXIS, media|flex
can be installed using a single server
and allows for multiple simultaneous
jobs.
With glooport media|flex, the workflow
possibilities are endless, and include
transcode into a mezzanine codec
while ingesting, park into a nearline,
retrieve only what you need,
ingest simultaneously in OPAtom and OP1a (allowing
editing in both Media

Composer and Premiere), outgest from
parked content and transcode while
distributing to multiple platforms.

ChyronHego Presents Virtualised
NAB Production

t NAB, ChyronHego presented the
first-ever fully software-based
studio production to be broadcast live
from a trade show floor.
Showcasing the company's range of
live production software products, the
ChyronHego Live Studio Show ran in
a completely virtualised environment
and was broadcast in two parallel
production workflows: as a traditional
ground-based SDI production and
running in a private datacentre
powered by Cisco.

louder than a real-world, working
production, and that's why we're so
excited about our Live Studio Show,"

we showcasing everything producers
need for an end-to-end, all-software

graphics and clips from the LyricX 3.2
graphics creation and playout solution

addition, the production showcased
next-generation
virtual sets based on
ChyronHego's augmented
reality
graphics
and
robotics systems, driven by
the fully integrated Unreal
Engine from Epic Games.

Miami's WTLV, Nikon, Lawo, and many
more - described their experiences
and integrations with the ChyronHego

recorded versions are available for
viewing.
