to this year's BroadcastAsia event...

roadcastAsia returns this year
to the Singapore Suntec venue
where it will be held from Tuesday
June 26 through Thursday June 28.
The following preview concentrates as
ever on new or significantly upgraded
products.
Adder
Technology's
ALIF100T
is an IP-based USB powered KVM
transmitter that can form part of the
AdderLink Infinity solution. It connects
straight into the back of any computer.
Audio Technica is now offering the
ATW-T6002x handheld transmitter for
its 6000 series high density wireless
microphone, packing 31 channels in
4 MHz of bandwidth. The transmitter
has an OLED control screen and is
being introduced along with six new
interchangeable
A-T
microphone
capsules.
AVIWEST'S PRO3 is the fourth
generation of the company's portable
video uplink. It is claimed to offer a
30% saving in data costs compared
with other available HEVC uplinks.
The PRO3 has a SIP-based intercom
to simplify communications between
the master control room in the
broadcaster premises and remote
transmitter operators in the field.
Blackmagic Design's new ATEM
Television Studio Pro 4K switcher
includes all the capabilities of the
HD versions plus UHD capability up
to 2160p60. Each input features
re-sync as well as a full low latency
standards converter, allowing eight
inputs running different video
formats. The upgraded Fairlight audio
mixer features dynamics, six-band
parametric EQ, dual mono channel
split and a stereo simulator with audio
delay on the analogue inputs. Also

incorporated are a chromakeyer
and UHD multiviewer.
Bluefish444 will demonstrate
its Kronos video interface with
simultaneous SDI and multi-channel
IP playout from Avid Media Composer
and Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Kronos
can handle multi-channel 4K input/
output with SDI, video over IP and
HDMI capture and playout, including
HDR and high frame-rate.
Brainstorm will demonstrate the
latest version of its InfinitySet virtual
studio including the use of graphics
content for applications such as
augmented reality. These can also
be enhanced by using data driven
graphics.
Clear-Com's FreeSpeak II IP
transceiver offers AES67 compatibility,
low-latency signal distribution and
audio routing, allowing FreeSpeak II
wireless belt packs to be addressed
across a user's LAN. Additional
enhancements permit a higher
density of users per transceiver.
Existing FreeSpeak II belt packs
can be upgraded to work with
the transceiver. All transceivers are
connected to an AES67 IP-router and
to the Eclipse HX system fitted with
Clear-Com's E-IPA high-density audio
and intercom over IP system card.
Each E-IPA card, also AES67 based,
provides up to 64 IP ports.
Datavideo's
SE-3200
12-input
switcher
features
auto-sensing
mixed HD inputs handling up to
1080p60. With four upstream
keyers it can create four picturein-picture combinations and mix
these individually. The SE-3200 also
features multiple chromakeyers and
can function as a virtual studio system.
A
still-image
background
generator with 50 sets already
built in.
Digigram's Iqoya X/Link is
a 1U audio codec designed for
delivery of audio programmes
over IP networks. It supports
Livewire, AES67 and Ravenna
technologies and can be used
in analog or AES/EBU audio

infrastructures as well as in full-IP
systems.
Glensound's
Expedition
adds
new features to current Glensound
HD Voice phones. These include
compatibility with 4G LTE networks,
allowing calls on 2G, 3G and 4G.
Expedition is a dual user unit with
two microphone/line/phantom-power
inputs and two headphone outputs.
It can be used as a complete portable
sports OB unit for two commentators
or as a monitoring/talkback interface
for an ENG team. An integral screen
simplifies setup, using caller ID and
using the phone book.

Glensound's
Expedition HD Voice phone

Ikegami's UHK-430 is a high-end
UHD camera employing three newlydeveloped 3840 x 2160 native 2/3
inch CMOS sensors which provide
full resolution plus the depth of field
required for studio and outdoor
production. The UHK-430 allows very
high quality UHD and high dynamic
range production while at the same
time interfacing easily with current
HD systems. Ikegami's iLog (HLG) can
be used to achieve high contrast to
handle high dynamic range. Based on
logarithmic gamma processing, this
integral feature allows more image
information to be
retained for greater
headroom
and
colour grading.
Leader's LV5600
is a mains-powered
SDI/IP
waveform
monitor in a 3U half-rack

width desktop chassis with a touchscreen front panel display. It provides
all the facilities needed to monitor
UHD/HD/SD SDI as well as video over
IP signals seamlessly. The LV5600
includes test pattern generation, eye
pattern display, jitter measurement,
closed-caption
monitoring,
CIE
colour chart, high dynamic range
measurement,
focus
assist,
customisable screen layout, tally
interface, 4K/UHD operation, 10G
IP input and 12G-SDI interfaces.
SMPTE 2022-6, SMPTE 2022-7
and the recently published SMPTE
2110 protocols are all supported.
The LV5600 also incorporates
Leader's intuitive Cinezone and
Cinelite which are familiar to many
content production staff. The LV7600
rasteriser offers exactly the same
capabilities as the LV5600, but in a
low-profile 19-inch 1U for easy rack or
desk mounting.
Live U will demonstrate its newly
enhanced LU600 HEVC portable
bonded cellular video/audio link.
The product range now includes 4K
SDI offerings and global roaming
capabilities. The LU600 facilitates
professional 4Kp50/60 streaming
and is available with 12G-SDI and 4 x
3G-SDI interfaces as an upgrade option
for the existing LU600. A new dualSIM modem configured with roaming
SIMs allows use in over 100 countries
worldwide. Other enhancements
include video return, enabling
field crews to see what is
currently on-air and receive
teleprompt information during
live sessions.
Octopus
Newsroom
will
demonstrate version 8.1 of its
newsroom
computer
system
This adds new features including
enhanced assignment sorting and
grouping, advanced clip and rundown
management, rules-based archiving
of social media content, live on-air
insertion of social media posts, fast
conform of rundown timing after a
rehearsal, fast story editing and fast
clip insertion/replacement. Custom
shortcuts allow new slugs in a rundown
to be created quickly.
