ANI Deploys
LiveU HEVC
IND / USA: Asia's premier news
agency Asian News International
(ANI) is upgrading its entire
LiveU fleet with LiveU's flagship
LU600 HEVC units for global
newsgathering and live sports
coverage. ANI's newsgathering
fleet, which is spread all over
India, heavily relies on LiveU
technology. The project has been
overseen by LiveU's partner in
India, Lamhas Satellite Services,
which provides onsite service and
support nationwide. ANI uses LiveU
for breaking and developing news,
around the country and abroad.

SBS Partners Up
On Music Channel
KOR:
Korean
commercial
broadcaster Seoul Broadcasting
System (SBS) has partnered with
other broadcasters to launch
HALLYPOP a digital network
celebrating Asian pop music and
culture. Cinedigm, JungoTV and
SBS have partnered on HALLYPOP
- the channel's name comes from
the Korean term 'Hallyu' or 'The
Korean Wave' - which will focus
on K-pop, Asian music, EDM and
pop culture. The new HD network
is expected to launch this summer,
with distribution aimed at both
digital platforms and traditional
operators.

Singapore Selects
Cannes Young Lions
SIN: Organiser Mediacorp has
named the two winning teams that
will represent Singapore at the
Cannes Young Lions Competition
in France. Showcasing the best
of young creative minds working
in Singapore's advertising and
creative industry are:
Film Category - Anwar Bin Johari
(The
Alchemy
Partnership)
& Joscelyn Heng Wei Qian
(MullenLowe).
Digital Category - Freddy & Tong
Wei Xue (Grey Group).
The competition will take place
during the 65th Cannes Lions
International Festival of Creativity
from June 18 to 22.

NDI|HX Boosts
Panasonic PTZ
JPN: Panasonic has boosted its
line-up of remote cameras with
the launch of a firmware upgrade
so that its entire line-up supports
NDI|HX, alongside the introduction
of a new PTZ camera, the AW-HE38.
Integration with the Network
Device Interface (NDI), enhanced
with a high-efficiency mode,
allows users to connect Panasonic
professional PTZ cameras directly
to an NDI network.
Panasonic PTZ cameras (AW-HE40,
AW-HE130 and AW-UE70) can be
upgraded to support NDI|HX, via a
software license sold by NewTek.

Malaysia's TV3 Deploys
Junger Audio Processing

unger Audio has helped
Malaysian television viewers
to experience the benefits of
digital television.
This year's final of Anugerah
Juara Lagu (AJL), one of the
country's most popular music
shows, was broadcast live in
Dolby 5.1 surround sound for
the first time.
Junger Audio's distributor
JAA Systems worked closely
with TV3's parent company Media
Prima Berhad.
The programme material was sent
to TV3's MCR via a DSNG link and the
5.1+2 audio produced at the event was
sent through in Dolby E format. Once

multichannel
audio
was
encoded to Dolby Digital Plus
using a Junger Audio D*AP 8
Television Audio Processor.
It was then sent to MYTV for
myFreeview
transmission
and viewers were able to
experience native 5.1 surround
sound produced locally on
supported IDTVs and DVB-T2
decoders.

Magna Systems Supplies
Vision Mixer Solution

agna Systems & Engineering is
developing, producing, supplying
and installing a custom vision mixing
solution for the Australian Department
of Parliamentary Services (DPS).
The solution is based on the Grass
Valley Korona V Series vision mixers
and will be installed in all of the
department's eight production control
rooms.
The DPS is the service department
for Australia's national Parliament,
providing services and facilities that
enable Senators and Members of the
House of Representatives to work and
communicate with each other, with

their constituents and
with the community. DPS
facilitates the Australian
Parliament to the Australian
community and to the world.
Magna Systems and Engineering's
relationship as a trusted supplier
and systems integrator to Australia's
Federal Parliament House and the DPS
stretches back over 12 years.
The project builds on many
installations that Magna has been
responsible for at the DPS.
