Electronics has introduced new
test and measurement products.
"Leader has helped many
broadcasters and broadcastequipment manufacturers manage
their migration from analogue, to
digital, from standard definition to
high definition and from standard
dynamic range to high dynamic
range," said Leader's President,
Kozo Nagao.
The LV5600 true hybrid IP and
SDI waveform monitor and its
LV7600 rasteriser equivalent, plus
the LV5300 portable 12G/3G/HD/
SD-SDI waveform monitor and its
LV7300 rasteriser equivalent, will
be demonstrated at BroadcastAsia.

Multi-Sport Win
SWE: A national telecommunications company in Southeast Asia
has selected Net Insight's Nimbra
platform for an IP media network
to support a multi-sport event.
Net Insight will deliver its redundant true WAN, high-quality media
transport solution Nimbra for
production and contribution of live
sports content from the sports venues to the International Broadcast
Centre. The order, which includes
products, services and the delivery
and implementation, was won together with Net Insight's partner in
the region, PT Transtel Universal.

Mediacorp Grab
In-Car Experience
SIN: A partnership with Mediacorp
signals a new in-car experience for
Grab passengers.
Mediacorp and Grab are aiming
to create tailor-made content for
in-transit viewing on Grab's incar tablets as well as Mediacorp's
suite of platforms and distribution
network. This will enable Grab's
passengers to access high-quality
content - such as short-form
dramas, sitcoms, variety shows
and headline news - for free while
en route to their destinations.
The collaboration should also
create more income opportunities
for Grab drivers.

LUMIX DC-GH5S
Passes EBU R.118
JPN: Panasonic's LUMIX DC-GH5S
camera has been tested and can
be approved by the European
Broadcasting Union (EBU) for HD
content acquisition.
The LUMIX GH5S establishes a
milestone by realising the world's
first 4K 60p / 50p video recording
in Cinema 4K (4096x2160).
The GH5S is capable of internal
4:2:2 10-bit recording, while V-Log
comes pre-installed on the camera.
The GH5S now also provides 14-bit
RAW recording, providing greater
flexibility within professional RAW
development workflows.

IMG Partners With Arqiva
In Live Playout Deal
A

rqiva recently announced a longterm deal with global leader in
sports, events, media and fashion,
IMG, to deliver two live sports playout
channels in Singapore.
The deal will see Arqiva provide IMG
with additional occasional use support
for global sporting events throughout
2018, including the A-League Football
and National Rugby League in
Australia, and the US Major Soccer
League.

over the course of the contract.

QVC Japan Upgrades To All-IP HD

infrastructure at QVC Japan.
The new facility, which supports
uncompressed HD and UHD signals
based on the SMPTE ST 2110 standards,
enables the global shopping channel
to significantly enhance the buying
experience for Japanese viewers
through the adoption of a softwarebased infrastructure that uses
commercial off-the-shelf equipment.

NEP Australia Trials 4K With DTC AEON
I
n association with its in-country
partner, AV Group, DTC Broadcast
has sold four AEON 4K wireless camera
systems that includes IP enabled
camera control and RF over fibre
solutions, to NEP Australia.

Technology, Marc Segar, said: "We
chose the AEON-TX because of its
flexibility to provide high quality HD,
HDR, and 4K video transmission using
HEVC encoding for improved link
efficiency."
NEP Australia is exploring moving
into 4K and HDR content provision in
due course for the Asia Pacific region

industry standard DVB-T modulation
for compatibility with existing systems
and DTC's proprietary UMVL and dual
pedestal modulation for enhanced high
frequency/high speed performance.
