In Broadcast - April 2018 - 40
40 www.inbroadcast.com | Vol: 8 - Issue 4 | April 2018 InForm Dejero To Present New Connectivity Solutions D ejero will showcase blended connectivity solutions offering enhanced reliability for live feeds over IP networks, and reliable connectivity for crews working in the field. It will also showcase new encoding/ decoding equipment with HEVC video compression technology in support of live and file-based broadcast and media workflows during NAB. CellSat: Providing enhanced reliability in situations where cellular networks are congested or cell coverage is limited, Dejero CellSat leverages the company's patented network blending technology to improve reliability by combining cellular connectivity from multiple mobile network carriers with Ku-band IP satellite connectivity provided by Intelsat. Dejero has focused on simplifying the use of multiple connection paths with built-in intelligence and automation so field crews can focus on capturing live news and events with confidence. CellSat, launched in conjuction with Intelsat, has already been deployed to a number of high profile broadcasters. GateWay: Dejero's in-vehicle mobile connectivity solution, called GateWay, facilitates collaboration and integrated workflows as if the field crews and home base crews were working in the same central location. The Dejero GateWay router blends cellular connections from multiple cellular providers to create a reliable, high-bandwidth virtual network. Dejero algorithms intelligently manage the fluctuating bandwidth of individual cellular connections and automatically adjust the throughput in real time to provide the reliability that broadcasters depend on, when and where they need it. Dejero's cloud management system enables broadcasters to remotely manage their fleet of routers in the field, and manage data usage and operational costs. HEVC: Combining Dejero's industryleading auto-transport and adaptive bitrate encoding technology, which optimises picture quality when there's limited bandwidth available, with the newest compression standard, the company will showcase HEVC capable EnGo mobile transmitters Dejero EnGo and PathWay rack-mounted encoders/ transmitters. In the broadcast facility, the new Dejero WayPoint receiver is used to receive, reconstruct, and decode multiple incoming streams to SDI or IP (MPEG-TS over IP) playout workflows. Using auto-detect technology for complete backward compatibility, WayPoint detects whether the incoming transmission is using AVC or HEVC compression and reconstructs the video from Dejero transmitters. Built on a 1U form factor with four outputs to minimise required rack space, WayPoint has dual-redundant power supplies and RAID storage for broadcast-grade reliability. LEMO To Exhibit Latest Interconnect Solutions L EMO will be exhibiting its latest connectors, media converters and cable solutions at NAB. Products include the well-established 3K.93C HDTV connection system (SMPTE 304 compatible), audio/video connectors, digital media converters, cable assemblies, fibre optic maintenance, inspection and cleaning tools. LEMO will be launching its newest innovative product the Compact Splice Tray (CST). Specifically targeted at the fast-paced broadcast market where "time is of the essence," this product LEMO 3GHz 75 Ohm Coaxial Contact offers users the ability to quickly and easily install a space saving and robust HD video bulkhead interface solution without compromising performance. With each system accommodating up to eight SMPTE 311M hybrid fibre (HD) camera cables / LEMO 3K.93C SMPTE 304M bulkhead connectors, it is ideal for mobile production and studio applications. By means of a portable automatic fusion splicer it can be field terminated, making it suitable for projects where application constraints prohibit the use of pre-terminated camera cables. Being modular by design, this versatile system can be easily configured to specific application requirements and therefore quick turn-around bespoke solutions can be easily supported. LEMO will also be introducing its new 3GHz 75 Ohm Coaxial Contact. The 3GHZ coaxial contact can be used in various broadcast connector configurations (indoor and outdoor applications) and combines multiple HD-SDI BNC type connectors into one. This new contact is particularly well suited for 3x coaxial (HD), 4x coaxial (4K) and 10x coaxial (8K) applications taking multiple HD-SDI BNC type connectors into one integrated connector, making interconnections simpler and more compact. This coaxial contact is designed for RG179 B/U type cables, LEMO's smallest 75 Ohm for multi-coax and hybrid coax connectors, providing signal integrity for video applications. The new contact can be used in various insulator configurations as well as in combinations of coaxial and low voltage signal contacts, providing a perfect solution for the broadcast market as an alternative to HD-SDI. They can also be built into watertight connectors with IP66/68 ratings such as the K, T and W series. LEMO Compact Splice Tray (CST) Accompanying the latest innovative products LEMO will be displaying the Anglissimo elbow plug; the 3K.93C hybrid connector; and its wide range of high-performance, high-quality SD and HD triax connectors. Also on display will be LEMO's media converters: the MULTISHACK SMPTE conversion system; HD Z-Link fibre optic camera link system; and the MEERKAT media converter. Completing the display is LEMO's Northwire brand of HDTV SMPTE/ARIB cables, including ruggedised, harsh environment and Steadicam HD cables.
