APT Mobile SureStreamer
Delivering Robust IP Audio Remotes

has
announced the launch of a new
solution to improve the quality and
reliability of IP audio remotes for NAB
2018.
The APT Mobile SureStreamer,
designed by WorldCast Systems'
APT Codec division, can be used to
maximise the uptime and broadcast
quality of existing hardware or
software audio codecs over 3G/4G
networks. Such networks are more
readily available and affordable
than traditional options for remotes
such as ISDN but they often fail to
deliver the quality and reliability that
broadcasters previously enjoyed.
The APT Mobile SureStreamer
employs SureStream technology,
the industry-leading approach to
redundant streaming widely used in
Studio-Transmitter links worldwide
and applies it to remote and outside
broadcast
applications.
With
SureStream on-board, the Mobile
SureStreamer can deliver enhanced

multi-path streaming over two or more
redundant networks to achieve the
reliability and broadcast audio quality
more traditionally associated with T1
and ISDN connections. The system
ensures that no glitches or audio
drop-outs are heard even when
using the most unreliable of IP
connections.
Supplied in a protective,
lightweight portable case,
the Mobile SureStreamer
features four universal
Ethernet ports allowing
connection
to
any
type
of
network
access including the
two 3G/4G modems
supplied. It will work
with hardware codecs
or
app-based
software
codecs on your phone to provide a
direct connection to any SureStreamenabled decoder or to the rack-mount
SureStreamer in your studio.

fully pre-configured in the studio so
non-technical personnel and talent in
the field can connect immediately on
start-up.
Commenting on the launch of this

new solution, APT Product Manager,
Hartmut Förster said: "We have

the most unreliable of internet
connections to ensure it remains
the 'golden standard' for audio
over IP connections. Now, with
the launch of the Mobile
SureStreamer

in other fields
outside
Radio,
the
APT
Mobile
SureStreamer
can
also be deployed to protect UDP
video and live media streams using
SureStream.
The APT Mobile SureStreamer will be
available for demo on the WorldCast
Systems' Booth at NAB.

The TV Newsroom workflow integrates

Manager) automated video playout
with Broadcast Pix IP-based integrated
production switchers, providing all
the functionality higher-end stations
require while remaining affordable
and accessible to all customers.
Direct integration with MOM ensures
that Broadcast Pix customers benefit
from the automated playout, MOSgateway capabilities, and Newsroom
Computer System (NRCS) features
inherent in ENCO's automated
solutions.
This allows journalists and news
producers to access MOM asset
libraries directly from within the
NRCS user interface, and incorporate

MOM elements like
graphics,
audio
and video into
scripts. Rundowns
are automatically
synchronised with
the MOM system,
which can then play
out assets.
MOM
customers MOM in Monitor
also benefit from the NewBlueNTX
proprietary motion graphics, titling
and visual effects capability that
Broadcast Pix has integrated across its
BPswitch product line.
The new TV Newsroom workflow
solution marks an evolution in the
ENCO and Broadcast Pix professional
relationship. The two companies
previously collaborated to simplify
control of Broadcast Pix video switcher
sources in automated workflows for TV
and Visual Radio.
The latter is particularly interesting to
radio broadcasters seeking a way to
engage streaming audiences through

a dynamic multimedia experience
delivered over web and social media
platforms. When fully integrated,
Visual Radio combines ENCO's DAD
radio automation and Presenter
Management for radio playout, with
multi-camera
studio
production
capabilities developed by Broadcast
Pix.

complex tasks traditionally associated
