Adder Technology's Zero U
KVM Transmitter
A

dder Technology, the high
performance, IP-based KVM
specialist, has announced it will
be unveiling its Zero U, IP-based
ADDERLink INFINITY 100T (ALIF100T)
to the US market for the first time at
NAB.
Developed in response to customer
demand, as the world's smallest
high performance KVM transmitter,
the ALIF100T is ideal for broadcast
applications where there's a pressure
for rack space and cutting costs in
premium, in demand estates.
The ALIF100T USB powered KVM
transmitter form's part of the
ADDERLink Infinity solution. It can
be easily retrofitted into any existing
infrastructure without the need
for re-cabling, moving computers
or changing racking - reducing
the overall cost of migrating from
analogue to digital. It can be plugged
straight into the back of any computer
like a dongle, taking up Zero U if rack
mounted and can hang from the back

of the source. Highly scalable, it also
enables broadcasters to grow their
system over time without needing to
accommodate new rack space.
The benefits also translate directly to
OB trucks as the dongle's 'small form
factor' is ideal for mobile trucks which
have even less space internally than
larger data centres. The ALIF100T
also allows broadcasters to link its OB
units together to create a streamlined
workspace from just one source.

our broadcaster customers face
when looking to migrate to digital is
the size of transmitters and lack of

Technology. "Consequently, this new
product will be especially attractive
to those looking to upgrade or update
their current KVM systems with the
ADDERLink Infinity range but are
hindered by the space issues or the
cost of redesigning their current
infrastructure.

Dongle-sized
- ALIF100T

"Retrofitting high performance KVM
into environments designed around
legacy, outdated equipment is
challenging and expensive, sometimes
requiring a complete redesign
including recabling. However, with the
new transmitter, businesses can easily
and cost effectively take advantage
of the ADDERLink Infinity solution
without this costly step," added
Halksworth.

In addition, the ALIF100T uses only
2 watts, which ensures less heat is
generated and less cooling is required,
therefore bringing down costs
substantially. The device can also be
powered directly from USB, meaning
there is no need for power distribution
units - saving on further costs and
negating the need for additional space.
The new ADDERLink transmitter adds
to the company's existing product
range, and works with the ADDERLink
INFINITY Manager (A.I.M.) and
ADDERLink INFINITY receivers.

MX1 Comprehensive Media Services

t the 2018 NAB Show,
MX1 will demonstrate its
comprehensive media services,
including MX1 360, the company's
unified media platform for managing
and delivering linear and non-linear
content to any broadcast, VOD, or
OTT platform.
High-speed editing via the Cloud

will also be highlighted, along
with real-world demos showcasing

At the 2018 NAB Show, MX1 will
showcase how its MX1 360 unified
media platform speeds up the editing
process and unlocks new workflows
via the remote editing of sports, news,
and other live events via the Cloud.
MX1 360's revamped and easy to use
editing tool allows for the quick and
effective production of highlights
directly from live feeds, whether the
feed originates from satellite, fibre, or
IP.
To assist editors working on the fly,
the system automatically associates

external metadata with the feed,
making it easy to locate specific events
when producing fast turnaround
highlights packages. MX1's solution
also allows for the archiving and
future repurposing of content and
highlights, while enabling content to
be distributed to broadcast, VOD, and
OTT platforms worldwide, all from a
single system.
MX1 will show how one of the world's
largest news organisations, AFP,
is using the company's services to
distribute video of breaking news
stories to clients worldwide via a
secure IP network. Video is delivered

to MX1 by fibre and from there
made available via MX1's global
infrastructure
to
broadcasters
and publishers around the world.
When major stories are breaking
simultaneously, the AFPTV Live
platform provides broadcasters and
publishers with the flexibility to choose
AFP news items that resonate most
with their market.
MX1 Smart Playout is a Cloudbased playout service that enables
broadcasters
easily
and
costeffectively to create linear TV
channels in SD, HD, or UHD without
any upfront investment. Offering
