Schneider 77mm
True-Match Vari ND filter

The filter works by
taking two matched
filters and stacking
them in combination
to produce a density
range from just under
a two stop loss to just
over 11 stops of light
loss. Schneider variable ND
offers a claimed 10 working
stops of attenuation with no blue
colour shift at maximum density. The
77mm True-Match Vari-ND Thread-In
is a single low profile filter with both
True-Match polarising filters in the
correct orientation for maximum ease
of use. The low profile ring is designed
to prevent vignetting on most DSLR
and video camera lenses. The built in
rotating ring adjusts the ND setting.
Step rings are available in common
sizes to adapt the 77mm size to smaller
lens thread diameters. It includes
a two gear mechanism, accepts a
wide range of lens barrel sizes and is
compatible with various accessories.
It mounts on 15mm rods and has an
adjustable arm which puts the gear

at the optimal position for the
lens. The unit snaps onto
15mm rods allowing quick
attachment,
removal,
and repositioning. Two
0.8 pitch gears are
included and provide
a choice of 28 or 43
teeth, dependent on the
throw distance of the
lens. Additional features
include two adjustable hard
stops, removable marking disc, and
an industry standard accessory port.
Sigma's FF Zoom Line of compact
lenses are compatible with a fullframe image sensor and are claimed to
offer the optical performance required
for shooting up to 8K resolution. The
lens is compatible with image sensors
larger than Super 35.
Sony's Super 35mm / APS-C format
power zoom lens starts at 18mm wide
angle and extends to 110mm at the
telephoto end (27 to 165mm equivalent
in 35mm format, with 6.1x zoom ratio.
Intended for products such as the
PXW-FS7 professional camcorder and
interchangeable-lens cameras such as
α7 series and α6300, the lens consists

of 18 elements in 15 groups, including
six aspherical elements and three
extra-low dispersion glass elements
plus a seven-blade circular aperture.
It is claimed to be particularly suited to
4K shooting.
Tiffen's Natural line of filters are
designed to provide neutral density
performance across the visual and IR
spectrum. They use the company's
ColorCore process to laminate the
filter between two pieces of glass.
Tiffen claims the filters will not fade
when exposed to harsh lighting
conditions. Also introduced recently by
Tiffen is the VVF variable viewing filter.
This incorporates a variable neutral
density filter offering indexed two to
eight stops plus the ability to add any
49mm ring filter
from the company's
range. The VVF
allows the user
to add additional
neutral
density
filters to increase
the stop range,
ultraviolet
filters
and polarisers, or Vantage Hawk
class-X lens range
special effects and

diffusion filters for pre-visualisation of
a scene without the need to reposition
the camera. The filter has an eyecup
and a one-inch handle with a quick
release lanyard.
Vantage's Hawk class-X anamorphic
lenses deliver a 2x anamorphic
look. The glass is claimed to deliver
improved definition, close focus and
edge distortion while maintaining the
look and feel of all Hawk lenses.
Zeiss' LWZ.3 21-100mm / T2.9-3.9
T is a lightweight zoom lens intended
for a wide range of production
applications. It is claimed to provide
low-distortion
images
free
of
vignetting. The lens has a splash-proof
housing with calibrated cine-style
ergonomics and almost 294-degree
rotation angle for precise focus
pulling.

ith the ZEISS Loxia 2.4/25
compact wide-angle lens, ZEISS
is adding a new focal length to its lens
family that will benefit both landscape
and architectural photographers: "High
resolution across the entire image,
as well as low distortion, ensure the
perfect result," says Product Manager
Christophe Casenave. "The compact
lens delivers great images thanks to
the new optical design." The ZEISS
Loxia 2.4/25 also features high-quality

ZEISS Loxia 2.4/25: A strong all-rounder
for taking photographs on the road

The compact design of the ZEISS Loxia
lenses has been specially developed
for the mirrorless fullframe Sony
E-mount cameras. Used in tandem, the
lens and camera enable filmmakers
and photographers to achieve a highquality result, while the equipment's
modest dimensions ensure users
always have whatever they need with
them. "This is a significant advantage
for anyone who wants to blend into the
background and is also on the road a

the ZEISS Loxia 2.4/25 transfers both
lens data and focus movements to the
Sony camera and then activates the
