G&D 'Chasing Superlatives'

equipment will once again travel to
Dubai for CABSAT 2018, where G&D will
be presenting high-performance KVM
solutions for optimised IT deployment
by broadcast professionals.
At the G&D booth, everything
will revolve around pixel-perfect
video quality and the extension
and switching of 4K resolutions
using matrix systems. The German
manufacturer will be showing the
features that make the work of
broadcasters easier and help them to
seamlessly link KVM technology with
broadcast-typical equipment, such as
the broadcast feature for tally lights.
The DP1.2-Vision extender
system extends video signals
with resolutions up to 4K
at 60Hz - either via optical
fibres or CAT cables. Working
according to the senderreceiver principle, the system
consists of a computer module
and a user module. The KVM
extender system provides
pixel-perfect images and

uses the in-house HDIP compression
technology in the latest development
stage, Level 3, which allows the
lossless transmission of video signals
with a resolution of 4K at 60Hz. Thanks
to this technology, the systems require
less bandwidth to transmit signals -
but still provide crystal-clear images
and latency-free operation. The DP1.2Vision is fully compatible with G&D's
digital matrix systems. This means that
the computer signals can not only be
extended over long distances, but also
switched and distributed. Following
G&D's principle of 'mix and match', the
DP1.2-Vision is fully compatible with
already installed G&D devices.

Another highlight is the

new GPIO function for tally lights. In
studios or OB vans, the G&D matrix
systems allow multiple users to
simultaneously access the same or
completely different computers. But
what if this computer is "live" on the
air and a producer makes unwanted
changes to this particular system?
The GPIO function helps transmit
relevant tally light information to
remote producer desks and highlights
the active "on-air" system by using a
connected "ON AIR" light. This way,
you can avoid making any unwanted
changes to a live computer.

Gearhouse Broadcast Expands
Wisycom Portfolio

purchased multiple Wisycom MFL
wideband optical link systems.
The deal, which was handled by
audio RF specialist and UK distributor
Raycom, represents repeat business,
as Gearhouse has already invested in
the systems for its Australian division.
These have been successfully
deployed at high profile events in
the country such as the V8 Supercars
Championship. The systems are
available for hire from Gearhouse now,
and have been engineered to meet
the most complex RF scenarios facing
broadcasters and content makers.
The new systems were recently used
in the Australian jungle for ITV Studios'
'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!'
The 2017 production marks the tenth
consecutive year that Gearhouse is
providing the technical and broadcast
equipment for the popular reality
series. The Wisycom MFL systems
enable the crew to send wireless radio
microphone signals over distance
