Globecast Appoints
Chief Marketing Officer
FRA: Globecast has appointed
Juliet Walker as Chief Marketing
Officer. Walker, who will report to
Globecast CEO Philippe Bernard,
said: "I'm excited to join the
talented team at Globecast,
especially when the market
is advancing with IP-based
services and TV is shifting to an
'Everywhere' OTT experience: with
viewers on second screens and
mobile devices.
Walker joins Globecast from
Ooredoo Group, where she led
Group Consumer Marketing for
five years. Prior to that, she held
several high-level management
and marketing positions within the
Orange Group.
"We're delighted to welcome
Juliet to our very forward-thinking
team," said Globecast CEO
Philippe Bernard.
Walker holds an MA in
Natural Sciences and a Ph.D.
in Chemistry, both from
Cambridge University, UK.

Boxer Names Jones
As Sales Manager

GBR: Boxer has named Peter Jones
as Sales Manager.

is exceptionally knowledgeable
across all aspects of broadcast
technology sales and management,

of experience will accrue to the

Jones has a vast repository of
broadcast industry experience,
including eight years in various
senior sales, management, and
marketing roles at FOR-A UK.
Jones commented: "With the
advent of IP, 4K/UHD, and the
new technologies and systems
designed to exploit them,
Boxer is singularly poised to
ease its clients' transition
to these exciting new
production options."

Pinewood Digital Expands
Daylight Workflow

inewood Digital, a pioneering
user of FilmLight's Daylight, has
recently extended its investment in
the platform with new systems in both
London and Atlanta.
Daylight is the near-set dailies
management tool from FilmLight,
which embeds grading decisions to
create high quality dailies and other
deliverables.
"Before Daylight we had to build
our own dailies tools, because there
wasn't anything on the market that
did what we needed in a cost-effective
manner," said Thom Berryman, Head
of Pinewood Digital International.
"We are big users of Baselight, and
when we found out that FilmLight was
developing a dailies tool, we were very
interested."

of collaboration with FilmLight: "The
two-way communication between us is
always open. We put the Linux version
through some tough tests, for instance,
and if we have a new feature request

need and why."
Based at Pinewood and Shepperton
Studios in the UK, and from a North
American base in Atlanta, Pinewood
Digital handles dailies on location
across the globe for companies such as
Disney, Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios.

Mediacorp Deploys RƎLAY
Virtual Radio Mixers

designed around an open workspace
concept that allows reporters,
producers and talent to create content
at dozens of production workstations.
To power these workstations, Lawo's
partner, Broadcast Communications
International, supplied and installed
50 copies of RƎLAY VRX4 Virtual Radio
Mixer software, part of a family of
virtual radio mixer products which run
on standard PCs.
Each computer is connected to the
facility's AoIP network, giving each
workstation's RƎLAY mixer instant
access to audio from network-attached
devices such as playout computers,
codecs and VoIP servers, as well as
audio from local sources.

ediacorp has installed 50
newsroom
production
workstations equipped with Lawo
RƎLAY mixing software at its newlybuilt 'Mediopolis' in Singapore.
"Broadcasters today are all buzzing
about 'Virtual Radio.' Lawo has been
pioneering virtualisation for nearly
a decade, so it's no surprise that
Mediacorp chose our virtual radio
mixer solution for their new facility,"
said Boon Siong Tan, Lawo's South
East Asia Sales Director.
Mediacorp's new media centre
hosts facilities for 12 radio and eight

TV stations, as well as originating a
number of online streaming channels.
The centrepiece of this new facility is a
30,000-square-foot central newsroom,
