The Tedial Evolution platform
and Evolution Version Factory

Hilversum facility.
The scope of provision provides
content management and MAM
workflows with integrations to the
various third-party applications

Uni Invests In
VariCam LT Trio

GBR: Bournemouth University
has become the first university
in the UK to invest in Panasonic
VariCam cameras to teach the next
generation of cinematographers
and animators.
The renowned university has
increased its investment in
resources and studio spaces
significantly in recent years.
This has allowed them to become
the first UK-based University to
invest in the Panasonic VariCam
LT, having purchased three units
through distributor Holdan.

Junger Audio D*AP 8 MAP Edition
audio processors for its new Dolphin
7.0 flagship 4K OB vehicle, which was
officially launched at IBC2017.
Supplied

Junger Audio's distributor in Italy,
these processors combine an audio
monitor controller and a loudness
measurement device in one unit, thus
providing
comprehensive
quality
control and loudness monitoring.
Designed for quality checking
surround
(5.1)
and/or
stereo
programmes, D*AP 8 MAP processors
can be used for live monitoring

and to ensure compliance with all
government regulations on loudness.
Their eight speaker outputs allow for
A/B checking of stereo compatibility
of a surround downmix through
alternative speakers, as well as via L/R
front speakers.
MAP also features a built-in Dolby
Metadata generator and an optional
Dolby decoder that allows users to
decode Dolby-E, Dolby-D (AC-3) and
Dolby Digital plus (E-AC-3).

"We chose Junger Audio D*AP
8 MAP units because they give us
numerous options such as HD-SDI
input and metadata creation, as well
as the possibility of adding optional
boards such as MADI and DANTE," said
Roberto Buonomo, Technical Manager,
Cinevideo.
Dolphin 7.0 is a 24-camera, fully
4K-capable vehicle with the ability to
support full 12G workflows.
With such a large number of inputs,
the performance posed a number
of technical challenges, but in
combination with their dLive system,
the production team delivered a
seamless show to an audience of
3,500 people, leading to a two-minute
standing ovation.
"For this performance, the compact
format, easy interface and
flexible routing of the dLive
S7000 system made it the
perfect choice," said Sound
Engineer, Marco Lecci.
"The sound was also
great,"
he
continues.
"The dLive captured the
extremely dynamic sound of
the orchestra perfectly. The
preamps are transparent
and the EQ, Dynamics and
FX are really good."
