Emotion Systems' Engine checks
for loudness compliance, normalising
files for playout to Dolby encoding
and automated audio processing. It
performs audio processing for content
preparation, distribution, and delivery.
New for Version 7 are loudness
processing, stream processing, file
wrapping, audio channel add/remove
and language tagging.
EVS' XT4K UHD-4K production server
is available with up to four channels
in various in/out combinations. In
addition to loop recording technology
it supports slow motion replay from
high-speed cameras. Up to 9TB
of storage can be accommodated
internally, externally expandable up
to 40TB. Audio options comprise 192
uncompressed audio tracks, audio
routing and analogue/AES/embedded
plus MADI support.
FilmFabriek's HDS+ film scanner
will be shown in its latest version. This
includes frictionless XL archival rollers
in all formats (8mm, 16mm 9.5mm
Pathé) for digitisation of damaged
or brittle celluloid archives. Realtime auto LED-levelling uses the full
dynamic range of the sensor to give
lower noise, less banding and more
detail in the shadow areas. Among
other new features are motionless
tension controllers, 8mm magnetic
sound head, 16mm optical and
magnetic heads optional), a low noise
external amplifier and a reversal film
scanning mode.
Fujinon's MK18-55mm T2.9 is a
standard zoom with an 18-55mm
focal length. The entire MK series
is designed with the 'emerging'
cinematographer in mind, whether
shooting a live event, online
programming, documentary, corporate
video, wedding, independent or short
film production. Next in the series, the
MK50-135mm T2.9, will be available
this summer. The series offers fast
lenses with T2.9 speed across the
entire zoom range, enabling a shallow
depth-of-field.

GatesAir's Intraplex IP Link MPXp codec

GatesAir's Intraplex IP Link MPXp
codec is claimed to cut bandwidth
consumption by more than 50% for
uncompressed digital IP STL transport.
It can transport uncompressed AES
192 signals as low as 1.8 megabits per
second and can handle digital and
analogue MPX FM composite signals
at flexible sampling rates and sample
sizes. Three IP interfaces can be used
for streaming and management.
Genelec claims
its 8430A to
be
the
first
loudspeaker
to allow direct
monitoring
of
audio-over-IP
streams. Based
on the Ravenna
IP protocol, it
is fully AES67 Genelec 8430A offers
audio IP monitoring
compliant.
Hiltron Communications SuperHMAM
large-capacity
motorised
antenna
mount
accommodates
satellite transmission antennas of up
to 4.9 metres diameter compared
with the 2.7 metre maximum antenna
capacity of the standard HMAM.
Integral to Super-HMAM is a newly
developed support structure which
can survive the storm conditions
experienced at high-altitude relay and
transmission locations, where wind
speeds can exceed 200 kilometres
per hour. All models in the HMAM
range provide full motorised control
of x and y axes as well as transmission
beam polarity. Like the standard
HMAM, Super-HMAM can be controlled
via an IP link from a PC running a
graphic user interface compatible
with standard web browsers. The
control GUI displays all the information
required to set and maintain azimuth,
elevation and polarisation, including
current position and target position
plus a database of potentially
accessible satellites. Once a satellite
is selected, precise access parameters
can be calculated at the press of a
single button.
Ikegami's SHK-810 8K camera is
designed for live studio and field
production. The camera head weighs
less than 9kg and incorporates a

single 33 million-pixel Super 35 CMOS
sensor, achieving 4,000 TVL horizontal
and vertical resolution. The system
expander enables the use of large
viewfinders and full studio lenses,
converting the portable camera into
a full facility studio/field camera. A
viewfinder detail function allows the
camera operator to increase the detail
edges to the viewfinder and picture
monitor video for easy focusing. A
lens aberration correction function
and tally/intercom features are also
available. A PL lens mount allows the
operator to use the camera with 8K
lenses, cine lenses, 4K lenses and
custom-designed zoom lenses for
single-chip SHV cameras. Standard
SMPTE fibre can be used between
camera head and camera control unit
to enable long-distance transmission
for live broadcasting.
Leader Electronics has expanded
the multiscreen capability of its
LV5490
4K/HD/HD
waveform
monitor. Previously able to show up
to four simultaneous test displays,
the LV5490 can now present up to 15
user-selectable graphic or data-group
elements on its front-panel monitor
and via the external monitor output.
Marquise Technology MIST (Media
Ingest Stream Transcode) allows the
creation and refinement of broadcast
and digital cinema masters or file
packages from any type and resolution
of source content. It can accept data
in a wide range of formats including
raw camera files, DCP, IMF, AS-02,
AS-10 and AS-11 DPP, including HDR.
MIST provides dailies management,
multiple
formats
transcoding,
editing and conforming tools, colour
grading, colour management, image
enhancement and conversion tools.
Images, subtitles and sound assets
in Digital Cinema Packages created
using MIST can be previewed at full
resolution and natively. MIST handles
multiple soundfields in the same
composition. Sound fields can be
exported in packages, rendered
independently or rendered
together. The companion
ICE (Image Control Engine)
is a file reference player
operated
via
a
timeline
displaying
video, audio and
subtitle tracks,
markers
and

reels. ICE can perform an automated
quality control validation process with
more than 50 tests, exporting results
to PDF.
Matrox' DSX LE4 IP is a low-profile
half-length PCI Express card offering
four-input and four-output) HD video
over 10 GbE, including ST 2022-7
redundancy. Matrox DSX SDKs offer
a common API platform across all
Matrox DSX Developer Products,
providing tools such as file reading
and writing, memory management,
streaming synchronisation, and a
selection of software codecs and
effects. A prototyping tool provides a
graphic representation of all hardware
components so developers can
simulate and test use cases before
writing code.
NewTek's NDI IP video camera
transmits full 3G 1080p 60 video
directly to NDI-compatible products
across a standard network. It delivers
video, audio and tally, pan/tilt/zoom
control and power, all over a single
Ethernet cable. Once connected to the
network, the camera is visible to all
compatible systems running the latest
version of NDI.
Octopus Newsroom will demonstrate
the latest additions to its newsroom
computer system. These include closer
integration with Avid MediaCentral,
ChyronHego CAMIO, ToolsOnAir and
Vizrt's Viz One.
Omnitek's warp processor is an
FPGA for creating arbitrary image
warps on a real-time video stream of
up to 4096 x 2160 x 60 Hz. Maximum
image quality is achieved via per-pixel
filtering and bicubic interpolation
on 4:4:4 video data at up to 12-bits
per colour plane. Alternatively a
single warp processor can process
multiple HD video images and stitch
the resulting videos together for
applications such as creating a
surround view from multiple cameras
or projecting a large image from
multiple projectors.
