Ooyala Names
Nikzad COO
GBR: Ooyala has appointed Mike
Nikzad as its Chief Operating
Officer (COO).
With more than 25 years
of business operations and
engineering leadership experience,
Nikzad will be responsible for
leading daily operations of
the business with emphasis
on Ooyala's product lifecycle,
including inception, development,
delivery, support, and all customer
deployments.
Prior to Ooyala, Nikzad was the
COO of Syncplicity, a prominent
software-as-a-service
company
for enterprise file collaboration,
where he achieved substantial
transformation across the business
in under two years resulting in a
significant growth in sales.
He also held COO positions
with EMC's Consumer and
Small
Business
division
and NewNet Communication
Technologies.

Screen Appoints
Head of Research

GBR: Screen Subtitling Systems
has announced the appointment of
Colin France as Head of Research.
France previously led the Grass
Valley
development
team
responsible for the maintenance
and support of Publitronic
Software. He has joined the team
at Screen to explore new markets,
help extend the product portfolio
and consequent reach of the
company.
Prior to the Miranda acquisition,
his time at Omnibus as a developer
on their automation software
focused primarily on third-party
integration.
The development of Omnibus' ITX,
later to be a Grass Valley solution,
and its subsequent influence
on the penetration of parallel
markets led to France's
focus in the company being
concentrated on bespoke
development.

Adobe Acquires
Mettle's Skybox Tools

acquired
all
SkyBox
technology from Mettle, a
global developer of best-inclass 360-degree and virtual
reality software.
The
acquisition
comes
at a time when increasing
numbers of creators, global
brands and media and
entertainment companies are
embracing 360/VR and are
looking for seamless, end-toend workflows for this new,
immersive medium.
To further strengthen Adobe's
leadership in 360-degree and virtual
reality, Mettle Co-Founder Chris
Bobotis will join Adobe, bringing more
than 25 years of production experience
to his new role.
