Maximising Existing
Cabling Investments
Through Distribution

equipment has become a constant
challenge for most engineers. Whether
they are moving to 4K or a new fibre
backbone, the bottom line has become
more important than ever, meaning
every component of the system
becomes a critical decision, including
the cable. But, it is possible to maximise
existing investments.
4K Foundation
Take engineers for the Outside
Broadcast (OB) market, who are
routinely tasked with providing the
highest resolution picture and sound.
It is simply not possible to design an
entirely new signal foundation with
every new technological advancement.
So, skip the fibre upgrade. While it
is often the preferred foundation for
4K, standard coax is actually adequate
for 4K signals over shorter cable runs.
