With Ross' DashBoard control
system, operation of each Graphite

via separate network-connected PC

Utah Scientific
IP Solutions

USA: Utah Scientific is developing
next-generation solutions that
integrate its advanced hybrid
router technology with Arista
Networks' switching platform
to ease broadcast customers'
migration to IP-based operations.
"We're committed to developing
solutions that can support our
customers' current SDI workflows,
but also help usher them into the
new world of IP operations," said
Utah Scientific CTO Scott Barella.
Arista's networking platforms work
with Utah Scientific's IP platform
to deliver hybrid SDI/IP routing
and native IP-transport solutions.

IABM Partners On
Training Courses

GBR: The IABM has partnered
with leading training providers to
deliver sales, pre-sales product
demonstration, answering RFPs
and digital marketing training
courses at discounted rates to
support members in ongoing
professional development.
The sales training course, delivered
by Sandler Training, is a two-day
workshop.
The digital marketing courses are
delivered online by Target Internet,
enabling participants to learn
about and deploy a wide range of
digital marketing techniques.

SAM Appoints
New President & CEO

nell Advanced Media (SAM) has
appointed
former
Tandberg
Television President Eric Cooney as
President and CEO.
Commenting on the appointment,
Cooney said: "Snell Advanced Media
has seen good growth in recent years,
in what has been a challenging market
impacted by the changing nature of
end-user media consumption. This
is testament to its commitment to
innovation and integration, whilst
keeping its customers front and centre.
"Having demonstrated the ability
to adapt and evolve both organically
and through M&A activity, this is an
exciting time to be joining the group as
we look to explore new ways to further
drive market share and profitable
growth within the media production
industry."

Cooney, who has over 20 years of
experience in the technology, media
and telecommunications industry, was
CEO of Tandberg Television, leading its

merger with Ericsson Group in 2007.
He subsequently resigned to accept
the CEO role at Internap Corp.
The appointment will see Tim
Thorsteinson step down as CEO after
two years in the role for personal
reasons.
Kevan Leggett, Chairman of SAM,
said: "Tim has done a fantastic job in
first, stabilising the business and then
creating and executing a strategy
based on significant investment in
new product development aligned
to enhancing the sales team which
has resulted in SAM's sales growth
significantly outperforming the overall
market."

Blackmagic Releases
Camera Control App
B

lackmagic Design has released
Blackmagic Camera Control, a free
iPad app that lets customers remotely
control their URSA Mini Pro cameras
via Bluetooth, along with Camera 4.4
Update for URSA Mini Pro cameras.
The new Blackmagic Camera Control
app is based on the open protocol
for URSA Mini Pro cameras that
Blackmagic Design demonstrated at
NAB earlier this year.
Camera 4.4 Update can be
downloaded free of charge from the
Blackmagic Design website. Once
installed, customers can download the
Blackmagic Camera Control iPad app
from the Apple app store.

All URSA Mini Pro cameras
feature built in Bluetooth
connectivity, which until
now has not been enabled.
Once paired with the
iPad, the URSA Mini Pro may
be remotely powered on or
off, with changes made to all major
settings, including adding metadata
using a digital slate, and trigger
recording.
Blackmagic Design has also released
Camera 4.4 Update which enables
Bluetooth functionality and adds new
preset timecode options on URSA Mini
Pro cameras.
The update also adds compatibility

Blackmagic's
Camera Control App

with Canon 18-80mm T4.4 for iris,
focus and record trigger, along with
improved EF, PL and B4 support,
improved digital slate functionality
and improved zebra stripe overlays on
URSA Mini 4K cameras.
