GBR: ETL Systems has helped
Timeline Television build its first
UHD production/uplink truck
- RF1 - for use with major UK
broadcasters.
Timeline Television decided to
build the RF1 as a six camera UHD
production truck that is also able
to operate as a communications
vehicle, with two powerful
independent transmission paths
with dual chain redundancy.
ETL supplied L-Band splitters and
combiners for the RF tray, which
allowed it to route all signals
around the two dishes easily.

DYVI Scores
For Giants
USA / BEL: Major League Baseball
team the San Francisco Giants has
installed an EVS DYVI system to
help create an engaging in-stadium
experience.
The broadcast-grade, live video
switcher at the team's AT&T Park
is being used to create live video
board shows for events at the
venue.
The Giants integrated DYVI into the
control room's workflow alongside
its XT3 servers, which ingest feeds
from eight broadcast and six of the
team's own in-house cameras.

Roland Updates
V-800HD Switcher
USA: Roland Professional A/V has
updated its V-800HD Multi-Format
Video Switcher.
The Mark II adds dedicated
switches for AUX source selection
offering enhanced operation.
An advanced keyer lets users
adjust phase range, amount of
chroma and other parameters
based on the HSV colour space.
A true multi-format video mixer
with a dedicated scaler for every
input, it allows different video
resolutions to be switched at the
same time.
A built-in HDMI multi-viewer
provides a convenient monitoring
solution.

Grass Valley Provides
JMC Studio Solutions
A

fter signing a multi-year
contract with a local
channel, Jordan Media City
(JMC) knew their studios needed
some equipment upgrades
before the new tenant moved in.
Grass Valley worked with JMC
to provide a fully integrated
solution. The two studios are
now equipped with LDX 80
Series cameras, 2 M/E and 3
M/E Karrera K-Frame switchers,
an NVISION 8144 router, GV
Kaleido multiviewers and all
related software and hardware
for complete integration.

Oilers Rely On Fujinon Lenses
A

fter more than 40 years of play
at its previous arena, the NHL's
Edmonton Oilers team found their new
home in the Rogers Place for the 201617 season.
The 18,500-seat Alberta arena is the
centrepiece of an impressive, large-

scale redevelopment plan in downtown
Edmonton.
The build included an investment
in six FUJINON lenses, and Rogers
Place now houses the following lenses
from the Optical Devices Division of
FUJIFILM: a HA14x4.5BERM super wide
angle and two XA77x9.5BESM
telephoto lenses, along with
a HA18x5.5BERD and two
HA18x7.6BERM HA Premier
Series ENG lenses.
The lenses are relied on for
game day action, including use
in a camera system installed
to the underside of the
arena's massive videoboard.

Measuring 46ft wide, 36ft. high,
and 46ft. deep, the Rogers Place
videoboard is the largest of its kind in
the NHL.

Video
Communications, a one-of-a-kind
suspended camera system was built
that includes a Sony HDC-P1 box
camera mounted on a dolly track hung
from the bottom of the score clock.
The camera uses a FUJINON
HA18X5.5BERD ENG/EFP HA Premier
Series lens, traveling 15 metres
along the length of the score clock
to produce dynamic, bird's-eye-view
shots of the game.
