EBS Signs EPG
Deal With JIB

JPN / GBR: EPG services provider
EBS has signed a major supply
deal with Japan International
Broadcasting (JIB) Inc.
The deal has been struck in JIB's
capacity as the official distribution
agent for NHK World TV, the global
arm of NHK.
EBS
provides
scheduling
information and EPG metadata for
NHK World TV operations across
Europe.
Data is being distributed to the
PCCW, Sky UK, Freesat, Yes, OSN,
and DSmart platforms via EBS'
flagship scheduling software Pawa.

Atomos Weighs
In With Sumo

AUS: Atomos' Sumo production/
studio monitor combines a 19inch HDR 1200nit 10+ stop panel
with 4K 12-bit Raw or 10-bit 4:2:2
ProRes/DNxHR recording and
HD recording up to 240p, or live
switching and recording of four
1080p60 channels.
Atomos claims it completely
redefines how production monitors
will be used.
Sumo gives clients and crew on-set
instant access to review recorded
content in HDR quality and doubles
as a grading and editing monitor
for laptops in the field.

Partner Up

USA: Amagi and STN have
partnered
to
guarantee
compatibility
between
the
Amagi SKYLIGHT cloud-managed
broadcast services platform and
STN's satellite uplink services for
channel delivery and distribution.
TV Networks can deliver and
manage their content from
anywhere on the globe through
Amagi's cloud-based SKYLIGHT
platform and be seamlessly
integrated with the STN teleport
infrastructure.
While STN customers will be able to
avail of the benefits that SKYLIGHT
offers over traditional managed
playout.

dgeware will be showcasing its
latest products and technology at
the BroadcastAsia 2017.
Following its launch at NAB,
Edgeware will be highlighting its Edge
TV Repackager. When integrated
with a TV CDN infrastructure, the new
product allows customers to repackage
and re-encrypt TV content at the edge
of their TV CDN.
The repackaging tool enables content
to be distributed and cached in a single
file format before it's repackaged on

the-the-fly, closer to the consumer, in
their choice of several formats.
This
lets
them
chose
the
programme's format to best suit the
consumer-facing end point without
needing to distribute multiple
versions across the entire network.
Not only does this kind of edge
repackaging offer relief on bandwidth
strain and storage requirements
but it also improves the audiences'
overall viewing experience. For

Within the Asian market, it's recently
undertaken two major installs for Hong
Kong-based content distributors TVB
and PCCW. Both deployed a delivery
architecture of Edgeware's TV CDN
technology to deliver both HD and
4K TV services to growing audiences
across the people's republic.
It will also present its industry
research which outlines when content
owners and distributors should
consider building their own TV CDN for
online OTT and live TV service delivery.

onifex is showing a number of new
products at BroadcastAsia, which
include the AVN-TB10AR 10 Button
Advanced Talkback Intercom, the
DHY-04HD Single Automatic HD Voice
& GSM Hybrid, and the PC-AD2 dual
stereo Analogue I/O & dual stereo AES3 I/O PCIe Half Height Sound Card.
The
AVN-TB10AR
is
a
10
button intercom designed to aid
communication between areas in a
facility or building complex. Up to 10

other 'stations' can be defined, one
per button, for communication with
other talkback units on the network.
Each unit has both 4-wire and AoIP
connectivity, with all audio transferred
over a network.
The DHY-04HD is an HD Voice & GSM
hybrid for handling high quality voice
calls, in remote locations such as OB
vans, and in emergency situations.
Using a 3G or GSM cellular network,
it can receive and make high-quality

broadcast calls of 7kHz bandwidth,
converting the 3G or GSM call to the
4-wire audio signal to and from a
connected mixing console.
The PC-AD2 is a dual stereo analogue
input/output and dual stereo AES-3
digital input/output sound card in the
PCIe half height format. One of the
analogue inputs can be used as a dual
mono or stereo mic input, there is a
dedicated AES-11 sync input and also
two GPIO inputs and outputs.
