DTU-351 HSD-SDI Input For USB-3

A

t IBC 2016, DekTec will
demonstrate its DTU-351 HDSDI input for USB-3 devices, which
optimises delivery of HD-SDI signals to
laptops, tablets, and PCs.
Bus-powered, the unit dramatically
reduces OPEX and speeds up T&M
operations. Simplifying the transfer of
full SDI frames, the DTU-351 enables
access to 16 audio channels and other
HANC and VANC packets.
The DTU-351 can be utilised for
a variety of applications, including
HD-SDI waveform analysis, HD-SDI
recording, and HD-SDI input for
uncompressed video, maximising
operational efficiency.
When bundled with the SdEye
Software, the DTU-351 becomes
a portable SDI Analysis tool
- providing analysis features
normally found on higher-priced
SDI analysers on the market.
In addition to the standard
Y,Cb,Cr, R, G, B Waveform and
Vectorscope Display, SdEye
provides in-depth analysis of SD,
HD and 3G SDI signals.

Errors in the signal can be detected
and logged using the CRC/EDH
Feature.
A raw Data Viewer allows display of
each and every Data-word of the SDI
Frame as 8-bit, 10-bit, hex or decimal
values. Using this feature, engineers
can troubleshoot SDI signals, for
example by reading out and debugging
certain ANC data packets in HANC/
VANC or checking the digital sample
levels in the active video area.
User definable Y, Cr, Cb values can be
highlighted in the video to enable easy
detection and marking of out-of-range
video and chroma Levels in the video
frame.

SdEye software turns the DTU-351
into a portable SDI analysis tool

SdEye provides a list of all ANC
data packets encoded in the SDI
signal. The user can quickly look up
this information via a table that
shows all ANC data packets
in a single frame,
counting and logging
their appearance over
time. This feature
allows users to check
if expected ANC data
packets are in fact coded in
the SDI signal, which is especially
important when the user is interested
in detecting certain packets that are
encoded in specific frame intervals,
such as SCTE104.
The unit's trigger function allows
users to freeze frames containing
user-definable ANC data DIDs.
Any ANC data packets can be
assessed in the raw SDI data
viewer for detailed inspection.
SdEye provides a capture
functionality to store up to 20
frames of the incoming signal
for detailed, offline analysis. SDI
frame data can be dumped to output

log files for further analysis.
Additionally
DekTec's
application, DTC-316-VR, VF-REC
complements this capture facility with
full baseband recording onto suitable
hard drives for compliance and offline
analysis. This offline analysis is also
supported by SdEye, when files are
captured by DekTec devices in DTSDI
mode.
The DTU-351 includes rich audio
analysis features, including peak,
loudness and surround meters.

status, control packets and decoding
of
SMPTE
2020-1-2008
Dolby
Metadata packets rounds out this
feature-rich,
cost-effective
SDI
analysis tool.
