Lawo has gained
a lot of attention with the introduction
of its Sapphire compact mixing desk

large-scale deployment extremely
cost-effective. A 24-way, Gigabit
Ethernet switch, for example, offers
the equivalent of a 12,000 x 12,000
TDM router at a fraction of the cost.
Proven SSL Network I/O products
and bridging technologies (analogue,
AES, MADI, SDI) mean that System

innovation,
Automix, is an exclusive, intelligent
DSP algorithm which gives presenters
the power to create radio shows
virtually hands-free. Automix works
by intelligently riding the gain of any
combination of mono and stereo input
signals to produce error-free mixes
- freeing talent to prepare for what's
next.
Sapphire Compact comes with
VisTool screen building application
software, designed to easily create
custom status displays, tablet and
touchscreen based button panels
and even mixing console controllers.
VisTool also serves to capture
and manage snapshots and offers
sophisticated rights management
functionality. The new 5.0 version adds
GUI elements including the ability to
place web page objects on custom
panels. It also provides integration to
more devices via the Ember+ control
protocol, while a new logic engine
enables rules-based decisions and
actions.
DiGiCo consoles, notably the SD
Series, continue to make inroads into
the broadcast sector. The versatility
and competitive price point of DiGiCo's
SD8 has made it popular in every area
of the audio industry, from concert
touring, theatre and broadcast to
larger scale corporate events. With
the introduction of Stealth Core 2, SD8
becomes even more of a force to be
reckoned with.

The National State TV and Radio
Company of the Republic of Belarus
(Belteleradio) has upgraded its Minsk
studios to deliver High Definition
output, and a DiGiCo SD10 mixing
console is now an integral part of
the new system. The SD10 is used on
programmes across Belteleradio's
TV channels, including news, current
affairs,
documentaries,
culture,
entertainment and sport. Once
installed and commissioned, TVC
provided training for the Belteleradio
engineers on the new console
"The brief was to deliver, install
and commission a complete highdefinition upgrade comprising the
latest, state of the art HD equipment,"
says Andrei Khmialeuski Head of TVC's
Minsk office. "DiGiCo was specified by
Belteleradio in the tender document
and we were easily able to integrate an
SD10 into our solution, which delivered
the best added value in its scope and
budget."
Studer has introduced the Vista

identical to that of its larger sister

broadcast monitoring, talkback, red
light control, GPIO, N-x (Mix Minus)
busses, snapshot automation and
DAW control make the Vista 1 "an
ideal choice for broadcast, live and
production use".
With an integral DSP engine of 96
channels, the Vista 1 can handle mono,
stereo and 5.1 inputs with ease, and is
provided with a standard configuration
of 32 mic/line inputs, 16 line outputs
and four pairs of AES inputs and
outputs on rear panel connections
which also can be customised.
The Vista 1 also features an integral
jingle player, played from audio files
on a USB jingle stick (such as station
ID or background FX), and triggered by
a series of eight dedicated keys in the
master section.
